"I'm sick of using 'crazy' for everything. I want to save it for special occasions."

"Birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs."

Awwww, humor in the face of misery. That's our Boys!

You completely blow me away with every one of these. I don't know how you manage to make them exactly the same and still completely different at the same time. That probably doesn't make sense. It's just what's in my brain when I read this.

hi so I'm gonna tell you why I love this series so much AND I READ THE WHOLE THING IN TWO DAYS OK

I have a baby brother, he's eleven-almost-twelve, and he's got asthma like you wouldn't believe and he's allergic to every damn thing, and he's the fastest swimmer on his team and taking every honors course known to man and first chair in trumpets, and he and my family are visiting me this weekend and the idea that he's walking around in a world that's just waiting for him to relax his guard for one fucking second so it can hurl nuts and peanuts and mold and double goddamn pneumonia when the rest of us have a cold at him just terrifies me. Like, how is he allowed to just do his own thing, I want to wrap him away and only take him out in public for special occasions because people aren't careful and they need to be. He got wheezy this afternoon, cause yeah we use that word, and we've done the neb thing more times than I can remember and the restaurant questions and all the inhalers and the epi-pen and the allergy scratch test that scared ( ... )

So much fucking love for this, I can't even describe it. Your writing breaks my heart, smashes it into tiny pieces, and yet somehow finds a way to stitch the pieces back together again.

I loved the small moments of humor, the moments where Dean's experiences made any connection at all with Sam's, and especially this:

He helps Sam into sweats and pulls him onto the bed. It's a lot, and Sam whispers about the clothes biting his skin and tucks himself under Dean's arm like he used to when he was little (same fucking body--this is Dean's kid that got tortured, okay? Do you get how fucked up that is? Do you understand that Dean changed his diapers and kissed his scrapes and tugged a bullet out of his shoulder? This is the part where he'd usually say something like "to put it plainly, mine" except let's put it even more the fuck plainly and say that Sam was raped twenty zillion times and Dean's read the websites maybe just as many and he knows damn well that Sam's body is Sam's but no, it doesn't stop him from wanting to gather the kid up ( ... )
