*tears up like always with this 'verse*

Come check on me. Come check on me.

"He was coughing all night."

"It's just asthma, I'm sure he's fine."

Come check on me. Ask if I need help. Just someone come sit with me, please.

The front door closes and they're gone.

This feel is a familiar feel. Though replace life-threatening mutant athsma with life-threatening major depressive episode.

His roommate's give him nods and...

Ya don't need the apostrophe there. (Sorry, I nitpick.)

I hear ya. It's a major pet peeve of mine, though I don't usually point it out. The story was just too good to have that lingering grammatical imperfection. :)

I feel like I haven't seen or heard hide nor tail of you in FOREVER.

This was insanely sad and intense, and it made it hard for me to breathe. Also made me want to crawl into my roommate's room and demand some physical affection, because the thought of being this alone is so heartbreaking. While I've never had asthma, I can relate to the feeling of needing someone to understand that you don't WANT to be left alone, you just are in your room with your door shut and all the lights out, but someone can come IN, someone please come in?

Good to see you around these parts.

good to see you TOO! guh, i've been so fucking busy with the end of the semester but I am heeeere *dances around*

my roommate is my best friend so I don't often feel alone like this, but the other night i was LET'S JUST BE REAL HERE having a bad trip and all curled up in my bed whispering "check on me check on me check on me" and he did NOT because he was all busy canoodling with his boyfriend. COLLEGE PROBLEMS.

so that inspired me to pick this one back up.

You wrote Stanford era! \o/ I could feel Sam's frustration/helplessness with The Real World here and how it doesn't actually care, and then the relief when Dean showed up and was awesome. Also this line:

The punchline is that Sam always thought he was a normal kid stuck in an abnormal life.

The punchline is that fighting monsters makes more sense than fighting for motherfucking air.

I have never actually had to deal with a disabilities office, and from what I hear about them I am so glad about that. Sam needs Dean to move into the room beside his *nods*.
