... I think I need to re-watch the My Little Pony: FiM season finale again. I watched it Saturday when I was exhausted and moody and because of that I'm not sure I enjoyed it as much as I could have.

I did like it, not as much as the season premiere though. Partially, I was annoyed with the finale's shift in focus to romantic love as the "ultimate ( Read more... )

I think Cadence is minor royalty like Prince Blueblood was. I like to think of her as a countess, since that is my favorite royalty title. And I do not think she is immortal, unlike Celestia and Luna.

I wonder if the Mane Six were the only ones fighting, since they were the ones who have used the Elements of Harmony.

I cannot pick a favorite season. I just like the Rarity episodes best :) Except that Diamond Dogs one, which is in the mediocre pile.

The real excuses for all of my gripes are likely just "time/budget constraints" and "just ignore it, this is a kid's show paid for by a company that is trying to sell toys, not win an emmy, and you are already lucky it is watchable, nonetheless pretty darn awesome, as it is" :'D

Though it would have made more sense to me if a) Celestia was in the midst of holding off the evil Queen when the minions suddenly attacked the city, and because she was occupied, she tells the mane six to get the elements, and the battle ensues, then b) in-between shots of the mane six kicking ass, or at least in the background, the audience can see other ponies, at *least* the guards and Luna, fighting off the minions too. I could have lived with the sudden and unexplained appearance of Cadance and Shining Armor, and pretty much all the other annoying bits, if they just made the battle at the end more epic and gave Celestia some credibility, for once! When she was defeated, I was just all, "uhh, really? THAT WAS IT ( ... )

Funny thing...

Yesterday, my wife and one of her gfs dragged me down to Hollywood to might the voice cast of My Little Pony and get autographs. We got in the back of a huge ass line that was apparently formed hours ago. The voice cast, and Tara Strong in particular, was only going to be there for an hour. Our group didn't even make it to the doorway of the building before the autograph signing was closed.

Now, I'm no Brony. But you should've seen the male/female ratio at that signing. I'm talking 90/10! For real!

My wife and friend were pretty disappointed that they didn't get autographs, but we ended up having a nice cheesesteak dinner and watching the first couple episodes at home.

Whoa, dude! I haven't heard from you in ages!

That is some crazy story. I've been to a few pony events at anime conventions, there are usually more guys but plenty of girls, too! It could just be the area, though.
