This is the end result of the date and various events that have taken place today. Amber directed me to some discussions on her journal regarding the scope of military service and the comments left by various parties that I am familiar with to varying degrees

Belated in response as it is, kudos on the entry. I share the same thoughts on many levels. I share the skepticism and frustration as well.

In the weeks and months following 9-11, co-workers were putting cheap plastic flags on their cars to proclaim their patriotism.

I refused to do that - I held my patriotism strongly within my heart well before that infamous day and still do years after.

I do not need to advertise to everyone stuck in traffic alongside me that I, too, love my country.

Sure - God Bless America… please. We definitely need it. Support the troops, they are the vanguard of those freedoms we take for granted.

We Will Never Forget? Of course not, but then again - we will never change.

Everyone has precious and caustic opinions about the war in Iraq, certainly it is a subject of great controversy. No matter what camp you lie in, be it liberal, conservative, or (my favorite) independent - one salient fact remains… it should have been over a long time ago
