Why hello there my little foxes. What is happening? Feeding wild lemurs? Getting up at 6 to feed dolphins that dont show up (more on this subject later)? I thought as much. Rats.
So ja. Whats today...hmm..Sunday. Jajaa. Well on SATURDAY my Vati-tacular and myself made a decision to go up to Le Beach Of The Rainbows (commonly known as Rainbow beach, where the only lifeguards to save you are giggling teenage girls and 10 year old mangly boys who couldnt swim to save a goanna. So happy to be safe at last). SO we started driving up the road (REALLY?!?!?!? Wow...) and we went through all of the bogan towns where they have no teeth and blind your with their mullets and their thongs (the ones on their feet...sick minds, all of you). We went through i think Maleny, Kennilworth and um...possibly one other. Dont recall. So we drove up through these rinky-dink towns and i was afraid to get out of the car incase i got eaten by wild bears and/or hippies. We stopped to have a "snack" on the way up and stopped at this place called Little Yabba Creek (maybe). There was a massive goanna there and we tried to feed it cheese by NOOOOOOOOOOO Mr Goanna (formerly known as Quincy) decided he would only eat the left over meat under the picnic table. Ooohh errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So no cheese for Quincy.
So after all of this hiking in vehicular form we got to Rainbow Beach and started looking for accommodation. But ALAS there was NOTHING (except of course if we wanted to stay in a backpackers motel in a dorm-style room with 5 other people who cant speak English). Ahaha it was really funny when we came out of the Backpackers motel we had a foreigner giving us directions AHAHAHAH i felt like QUITE the toss. So we went to a place that was a bit more fancy and would cost a bit more but they had no rooms either. The girl was really nice and started phoning around EVERY motel/hotel in town to see if they had vacancy. Really nice. But no one did and they had jsut given away their last 2 rooms only 5 minutes ago so we were like SHIIIIT. And then the manager came out and said we could saty in the room that they always kept free for their "display unit" so i can honestly say we got THE last available vacancy in all of Rainbow Beach. Jajajaj.
So then we decided to go and have a swim excpet there were no lifeguards on the beach so i was like Um....yes. Im not swimming in there. But then i did and it was like 6pm and then sun was going down but i didnt go out past like waist hight because then i probably would have been caught in a rip and died. How lovely. So we got back to the hotel and i had a shower and i had seaweed ALL over me. Vair gross. And not like big clumps. The tiny stuff that gets lodged in your skin (ok, not really). We had dinner at some crap seafood joint and i got a Chicken Caesar Salad (should have known it wasnt going to be fresh and in a plastic container with Heinz Dressing. NEVER eat Heinz dressing). I watched My Family at 7:30 on channel 2 (Saturday) WHICH EVERYONE MUST WATCH FROM NOW ON. Its the funniest thing EVER (most likely) i love it so much. And the one thats coming up next Saturday is SOOO funny. Le sigh. Then i went to bed at like 9 as i was exhausted. I didnt sleep very well (you dont usually when your in a strange bed).
Now then fun begins. We got up at 6AM (!!!) ON A SUNDAY. I swear not even the sun had awoken. Trudged off to get on this boat that took us round to Tin Can Bay (which, as i know some history, comes from the Aboriginal word Tuncunba which means "Place of Dugongs" because there used to be a lot of Dugongs there). So we got on the boat at 7:20 and it takes 25 mins. We had to be back at 9:30. So basically we had from 7:45-9:00 to feed the dolphins and they usually come in at about 8am. AND THEY DIDNT SHOW UP! CLOWNS! They said afterwards that its only the 2nd time in 3 months that they hadnt shown up. We figured that out as roughly a 2% chance that they wouldnt show up. GAHHHH! Ruddy dolphins. So we went back to out hotel, checked out and then drove to Tin Can Bay just to see what was there and we went back to the dolphin place to see if they showed up at all (they said they usually come between 8 and 11 but theyre usually there at 8-8:30 everyday). And guess what? Just out luck. They came at 9:30. CURSE IT. I was rather alarmed and peeved but hey, what can you do??
So then we just drove home along the highway (not through all of the hick towns) and stopped at the Big Pineapple to have a drink and a "toilet stop". I didnt actually know you could go inside the big monumnet on the pineapple they have on the roadside. I never knew it contained a staircase and you could stand on a balcony up the top. The world is full of mysteries.
And now i am home. I actually started writing this at like 7:45 nad it is now 9:45. Ahah after about the 3rd paragraph i went and watched 2 episodes of taped My Family from like 2 years ago. Ahaha. So good. And now i am attempting my very best to download a song By Eric Bibb who was at Woodford. I hope to all hope that it works. Its the best song (its called I heard the angels singing).
Goodnight and Gute Nacht. Is that even how you spell it...? Hmm. TOODLES!
