People ask, "Why do you have a reborn baby?" Or in my case, babies. But before they even ask the question, they have a preconceived idea about these dolls and the people who have them. Without knowing the true term for these beautiful babies or without ever holding one

No judgment here, and certainly no laughter. I am, however, interested in the word "reborn," which implies that they were born before. Do you know how these came to be called reborn?

One of my friends has a Reborn doll, to help her cope with the fact that she is infertile. I've never found it particularly strange. What I do find strange are how quick people are to find it "weird" that someone might want to own one of these dolls. Do what makes you happy. :)
