curmudgeonly whinge regarding Twitter, but not the usual

I happen to like Twitter. I find the weird anti-Twitter rage cropping up here and there (on LJ, in the media, on YouTube) to be rather odd and to miss the point.

One thing I don't like about Twitter is getting random 'friend' requests from entities I don't know.

I say 'entities' because by and large I'm open to adding people I don't know, or ( Read more... )

Mine is miss_primavera, and I do not know what target demographic that bespeaks. If the Bacon Salt company had added me I might have refollowed just for novelty's sake!

I shall add you.

Oh! You are SO not alone in the anti-zombie rage. The whole OMFGBBQ!!!! Zombie Contingency Plan etc type stuff never was funny to me and I've not really been able to comprehend the obsession.

:)

I don't twitter, nothing against people who do, just not my thing.

I can't get into WWZ. Oh well, I'll just read more vampire stories. (Hello, 'Salem's Lot!)

'Salem's Lot is really good. Also, you must see the movie "Let the Right One In," if you haven't already -- best vampire movie I've ever seen.

I love Twitter a lot, but... virtualinsomnia May 24 2009, 11:49:25 UTC
I just went on a rampage and purged close to 60 random people I didn't know who'd friended me for, as far as I could tell, to up their following count or something? I don't know. They never engaged in any conversation with me, and it had begun to make me feel uncomfortable having them there. This was only a few days ago, and already there's at least a dozen new people who've friended me and I have no clue who they are. :-\

I guess it's just the way things go on Twitter?
