And I also know that Daenerys is pretty ruthless, but why didn't she fly directly towards the Red Keep to be that ruthless with her ACTUAL ENEMY Cersei instead on unleashing against the civilians? "Because she wanted to inspire feaaarrr" ... as if taking an entire city and overthrowing the previous queen wasn't scary enough. This was peak buffoonery.
Honestly, I'm rooting for Sansa to at least be Queen of the North at least. I think she'd be a good leader, actually.
I think the thing with Dany was building, but because they decided to do two short seasons, it's rushed everything. They aren't taking their time, and they're rushing the ending. It's nothing I haven't done before when I'm finishing up a long series and I just want to be done, but it does have consequences. Not for me really, who might just leave a few people slightly disappointed at the ending. GOT has millions of viewers, and it's a major cultural touchstone at this point. It matters to do it well.

Okay, maybe killing the enemy soldiers after they'd surrendered. I could imagine her doing that. Not so much destroying the entire city.
Then again, Missandei did tell her to do it.
Then again again, it still doesn't make any sense characterwise - not in such a short space of time.

I'm afraid I found the ending pretty lacklustre, but I know lots of people loved it.
