Shard had stepped out for a little while, leaving Bruce on his own. She wasn't going to be gone long, so it was safe enough.

Besides, there was a knock at the door only a little bit later. "Mom? You home?"

Either someone has the wrong apartment or Yumi has come to visit. Well, or some psychopath is trying to gain enterance into his current home in order to kill, steal, maim, ect.

Bruce, being Bruce, goes for the second option. He rattles about in the kitchen for a knife and then, standing well-back from the door, calls out. "And you are?"

Well, that's a surprise. Yumi blinks at the door, tilting her head. "Huh," she murmurs to herself, then shakes herself. "I'm sorry, I think I have the wrong apartment. I'm looking for Shard."

"You've got the right apartment. Name please?" Okay, by now he's pretty sure it's Yumi but there's no point in just opening the door now, is there?

He does put the knife into a safety position, blade against the back of his arm, as he goes to stand next to the door.

She rolls her eyes. "Yumi Bishop. Who am I speaking to?"
