Shard was happy. She actually liked having people in the house, though she was giving some thought to either expanding the house a bit or making a guesthouse or two. Plus there was the whole worrying about court dates and all, but pretty much? She was happy ( Read more... )

Oh, Reilly can answer that question for you, Shard! Drunken mumbling underneath instruction booklets and planks is just like providing a coherent and reasonable answer, really.

"'Dun compare me to Summers, I don't shoot eye beams, pew pew pew..." At least he's not going- "Heheheh, no, thwip thwip thwip!" Be thankful Reilly doesn't have any webbing on him, Shard. (Also be thankful that he's not even doing it right.)

After a moment of drunken giggling, Reilly does manage to say "Hi Shard we bought bookshelves," but he's slurring his words a bit, so she might not be able to understand him.

"Thwip thwip thwip?" Tim demands from where he's hunched over a pamphlet and trying his damnedest to read it from the light of his cellphone. "Whuh? Shard?" He brightens, straightening up and looking around until he finds her.

"Hi Shard! We bought bookshelves," he echoes Reilly happily. "Gonna put them together. From IKEA. Gonna... yeah. I can't read right now. Reilly can't read either." Whispering loudly: "I think he's drunk."

Shard looks between them, one eyebrow slowly crawling up her forehead. "I'm not certain either of you are sober," she points out, reaching over to turn on the porch light. No reason for Tim to kill his eyes if he doesn't have to.

"Okay. WHY did you buy bookshelves?"

"Because I like books, Shard, did you know I like books? Tim said when I got a new place, I'd need books and... and I'm not sure what happened after that." Reilly has to take a moment to try (and fail) to lift the planks and get back on his feet. "But I'm not - not that drunk."

An ironclad defense from the lawyer!
