[voice] our turn?

Nov 30, 2010 01:51

It seems like so many of my friends are leaving recently. Although some of them came back, some of them have not. How are we able to return and should we feel guilty at the fact that we are relieved when we see their familiar face?

[She's quiet for a few more seconds.]

I wonder if it has to do with the high Priestess or the coral. How do you choose? ( Read more... )

[Having already spoken with her friend on this subject earlier, she decided to just dive in at Kagome's questions.]

I don't think we should feel guilty. Really, we have no say in the matter. They would have come and gone just the same if we weren't around to miss them. So I think its perfectly alright to be relieved to see someone return here. The least you can do is make there time spent here a happy one. Besides, nobody want's to come back to a sad face, right? [A goofy smile for you, Kagome. She's recently pulled herself out of her Cloud-induced-funk and doesn't want to see you moping about now instead.]

And maybe... maybe the reason why we aren't told when we'll leave is because it's easier that way. Maybe it's easier not to say goodbye. Even though its a bit harder on the people who remain once they've left.

[Kagome smiled at Esther as she listened to her. She was sad, exactly, more philosophical and worried. It seemed like a lot of people that she knew, were leaving her.] I guess that's true but if they leave then they can return home and to where they belong but I felt so happy when I knew Touka was back.

At least it'll give us notice. We can prepare ourselves instead of having them there one day and gone the next...

Home is where we belong, but there must be some reason for us to be brought here. While that hasn't been clearly defined yet, all we can do is wait until our job is finished and we leave for good... If that's even the case. I get the feeling we'll somehow always return here.

But, that's kind of how everything in life is, you know? Things happen and we don't get a warning first. You never know how long you'll be alive, or how long the people around you will be there. You don't know how long you'll be in one place or the next. You aren't told ahead of time about the people you'll meet or the places you'll go. Some good, some bad, but they still happen all the same. And they happen for a reason. Even though we can't see that reason now, it's there.

I've heard that we were here because they need us to keep the barrier up. I'm not sure...

I know but this is different. We're prisoners here so when they decide to kick someone out, they can at least give us warning before doing so.

[She put in some thought as to if she should respond to this girl or not. It felt longer then the couple of minutes she let pass before she sent a message back.]
Counting down until good bye can be just as cruel. As long as we have these memories with us, we can keep going. Even if it's not the same as having them here with us... You still remember them. Keep the good times fresh in your mind.

Perhaps but I would rather be able to prepare myself then have them just leave. Maybe but memories aren't as good as the real thing but perhaps they are good enough to carry with us...

...Would you wish for your friends to beat themselves up over anything?

Of course not. I guess there is no right way...I just hate to see my friends suffer when someone we love leaves. I just wish there was a better way...that's all.

[Akina's looking a lot better now that his girlfriend is back.]

I don't think the Proestess has anything to do with it. It seems like something out of her influence.

The Lamufao, though...

[So it's official is it?]

I thought that the Priestess was higher then Alpha.

[She shakes her head and offers him a smile.]

You must be relieved that Touka-chan is back.

Well, I don't know, really. I don't have the best idea of how the native's government works or anything like that.

[There's a sigh of relief]

Yeah, you bet.

I don't either. Maybe its better that way.

[She smiles at him. She can't help but to try to nudge him.]

Are you going to go on your date now?

[ Normally he'd leave something like this be, but some part of it...well, it brought up some memories, both old and recent. ]

Leaving without a chance to say goodbye...

[ Two faces come to mind. Both are no longer around. ]

...Even without this place's help, that'll still happen. All you can do is move on.

[She sounds sad.] No...you have no warning....one day you're here and the next you're back home. The people here have no chance in saying goodbye.

It might but maybe not those closest to you. I know that it just...its just not right.

[ Sion can understand being sad, but acting like it's so horrible when they're finally able to see their home again after being trapped somewhere for who knows how long? He doesn't know the situation, but he doubts everyone here never want to see their homes, the people they left behind, again. So, no, no sugar coating for you. ]

Quit acting like they're dead when they leave.

[She sighed as she heard that.]

That's not what I meant or was trying to imply.

[She's quiet again]

It's not like I don't feel glad that they get to go home but for the rest of us who remain behind, its hard. Is being able to say goodbye a horrible excuse. Even though they aren't dead, for some of them, we might not ever get to see them again and you don't remember Vatheon when you return home. You remember them as long as you remain here.
