A day out for claraimpossible

As promised, Reynard did stop drinking, mostly, in order to organise a date for Clara. It's been so long since he made an effort at romance, that he decided he was rather proud of what he came up with. He's arranged to meet her in a spot on the edge of a forest with miles of spacious countryside around. He's not alone, either. Reynard holds the ( Read more... )

The blue box is kind enough to drop her off - not so close as to frighten the horse, no. Clara still has a bit of a walk, but it's nice, actually - seeing the flowers and trees starting to brighten up with touches of green. She's been making an effort to spend more time in the garden in the TARDIS, but actual, proper, fresh air is really lovely.

Oh but. There's a horse? Clara has never actually been on a horse. Oh yes every once in awhile there is something she hasn't done and exceeded at. It does happen.Although in her typical skirt-that's-a-bit-too-tight, she sort of wonders about the logistics. Hmm.

But she's getting ahead of herself, like usual. Reynard is looking vastly improved, and she gives a wave as she gets closer. "I don't think I've ever been this far outside the city!" It's true. She's always been a city girl at heart, though given her love of Robin Hood, she does quite like the idea of the countryside. Once she reaches him, she stands on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek. "Hello, Mr. North."

The kiss gets a smile and he gives her a little bow, because people like that. "Clara."

He smiles at her a second longer and then looks around. "It's lovely, isn't it? Once Winter is over, I'm not very good in the city. I know plenty of beautiful spots. I thought we'd go to one, spend some time together."

Then his gaze turns downward to her skirt and he rubs the back of his head as he looks to the horse. "I probably should have given you a bit of warning."

"Oh?" And somehow that just easily gets a blush out of her. "That sounds lovely, actually."

She bites her lip and looks from the horse to Reynard. "Don't ladies ride side sadle? Or, do you do some sort of gentlemanly carrying thing?" She looks a touch sheepish. "I'm afraid I've got zero experience when it comes to horses. For once I can't be remotely impressive."

The 'gentlemanly carrying thing' almost gets a laugh. Instead he grins and pulls the horse alongside her. "I'm sure we'll figure it out. Perhaps best you stick to side saddle today."

With the horse in place, he takes Clara by the waist and lifts her up onto the saddle. He smiles up at her, standing by to make sure she doesn't fall off. "There. You look very impressive to me."
