Canonish drabblish thing for DGMDR! Featuring two characters of mine, who I wish could actually interact together, and the always fabulous Book!Devit.
Devit was sure that Jasdero would be the death of him someday. Most likely out of some sort of heart attack, or something of that sort. His own was a constant scare, between the memory of self-mutilation, the pain of his past, and how he lost himself at times he was almost too much to handle. Adding in his gender issues made it even worse, he was so scared that he'd get him pregnant one of the many times he insisted on having sex while female. He just couldn't risk them having a baby, it was the worst thing he could imagine! Well, perhaps not the worst, but it certainly ranked up there among his most nightmarish of worries. And that worry had only seemed more valid when he had come across her.
He just couldn't leave her alone, not without her Devit there for. And he didn't trust the Noahs with her, even if they were her family. She was still Dero, and it wasn't right to leave her on her own. So once she had calmed enough, and decided to believe that Devit was still Devit, he held her hand and walked her back to his room where his own Jasdero was waiting for him. He was a little concerned about how the meeting would go. Would his Jasdero like her, or be jealous? Would she be angry with him? She was already all out of sorts, and shaky. He really saw a lot of potential for the meeting to go terribly, terribly wrong...
But it didn't.
His Jasdero had been fascinated with her from moment one, petting her hair and clinging to her. And despite the ever present truth of their opposites sides, she had adored him from the first hug. He couldn't dress himself without being reminded, couldn't be trusted to take care of an animal much less a person, but he had helped her out of her clothes and into something soft and pretty and comfortable. She had admired how his own little nightgown had looked on him, and they had tied ribbons in each other's hair. They had watched a movie, and eaten curry, and would have indulged in a late night chocobo ride if Devit hadn't reminded them that it probably wasn't a smart idea considering Dero's baby.
And that baby had been an subject of fascination. His own Jasdero hadn't been able to keep his hands off the belly since he realized that yes, there was a baby in there. And when it had started kicking hard enough to feel, and even see? A game had been designed between the two of them to entertain the baby. They pressed, it kicked, and Devit swore that it was actually playing with them. And they talked to it, and told it a story about how amazing Jasdevi was, yes, even exorcist Jasdevi! And towards midnight they had both started yawning, and it was time to rest.
His own Jasdero had orchestrated the whole thing, one of them on either side of her so she wouldn't feel bad. It was a little awkward, this wasn't his Jasdero, but once they were all curled up in the same large bed, and he was hugging his boyfriend as best he could with her in between it all seemed right. They were warm, they were safe, the cold of winter and the pain of separation couldn't reach them tonight.
And for now? That was all that mattered.
