I'm glad you're still enjoying it! I'd really debated whether or not to include the entire chapter here, but ultimately I think it works better as a two-parter rather than one super-long installment.

Yes, Ethan does tend to end up being the victim of his own backfiring plans. Though, unlike most times, he wasn't able to simply sneak away under a cover of chaos. And you're certainly right about Giles! He was probably expecting his worst opponent to be Ethan, himself. But knowing Ethan as he does, he really should have known better.
