For close to a week, Marissa had been agonizing over this: Was she being a silly teenager? Was she overreacting? Should she just suck it up and deal? Summer had been doing nothing. Not in the traditional meaning of doing nothing where usually the person was reading or sleeping or talking with friends, but in the actual sense of the word. Her mind wasn't wandering (for once) as she lay there enjoying being able to relax.

"Hey Coop." Summer flashed her a lazy grin, sitting up and crossing her legs together Indian style almost like she was prepared to do some yoga with her best friend.

"What are you doing?" Marissa asked as she stepped inside, brows arched in curiosity. It was rare for Summer to stay in one place for long; even on the island, it seemed like she was always keeping herself busy with something.

"Just you know..." Summer's voice trailed off and she found that she didn't really have an answer. No fake voice overs. No schemes. Just calmness.

"Remember when Cohen left that summer how I tried to like find myself and I went through all that actualizing, or whatever?" It didn't quite connect to Summer that the time she was referencing was just last month for Marissa. For Summer it felt like a lifetime ago.

"Yeah," Marissa confirmed with a slight smirk. "It was happening when I got here."

She moved into the room and dropped to sit cross-legged beside Summer with a sigh. It probably said more than she intended it to. "You have some time to talk, then?"
