:) Nice. Good question here. I'd guess the answer lies somewhere with people preferring the feelings they can get from social contact over ensuring the contact is "in real life"/face-to-face. Having a profile on a website that tells you a bunch of other people on the same website like what you just posted might beget a greater dose of self-assurance than most of the contact the person gets beyond their computer's screen. Personally, I enjoy both roughly the same. :) Hope to hear more of you, microxcuts. :)
Yeah, it was posted at a group called "I am a programmer, I have no life" (it's full of great images, if you're into geek/programmers humour just like me)
