Shiver was given to me for my birthday this year. I actually found the first half pretty slow, but I LOVED the werewolf mythology the author created, and felt the book really picked up when you started learning more about the wolf who turned Sam and Sam and Grace start trying to figure out how to keep Sam human. I've seen criticism of the pacing a few times, but it really worked for me -- it's a story that lays itself out at the pace of high school life, which made it really real.

The second book is really worth reading, too -- they get more into the mythology and introduce a new character which brings pretty interesting new elements into the story. But, of course, like any good second installment of a trilogy, it will leave you heartbroken and slavering for the final installment. JULY. :(

Also, missed the blue text, but I love my Kindle enough to forgive that.
