Of course Sokka can do better. Because he's awesome like that. :D

I think I've said it before, but you have Sokka's voice down so freakin' well. This also felt just like a well-rounded Pern story -- the type I used to read as a kid, only better.

I can see that this oneshot got long on you, but I still really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the second part! (And don't mind the icon, it's only one of the few Sokka ones I have... I gotta fix that.)

One of the reasons that it got so long was because the Sokka/Zuko banter got so frickin' long. It like doubled the length of the story, because they kept snarking at each other, and then Honorath would chime in, and oh god.

I need a break before I finish it, but I'll probably put part two up tomorrow. Part three will goddamn be the last part, because I have other atla/pern schmoop to write. >:|

Part of the fun with Zuko/Sokka dynamic (even just in friendship) is that the characters always play off each other so well, and then you add a dragon and... yeah, you have my sympathies.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I liked Katara's brief little cameo in there. Is this before or after she had Zuko's flight-baby?

It's the same with Katara, too. They play well off each other as lovers or as BFFs. Not that I've written much BFF Katara/Zuko, but... yeah. FIRE AND WATER, BB.

I need to put together a timeline at some point. This is about six or eight months after Bronze Takes Queen. Daddy Two would be... three or four or five years after Bronze Takes Queen.

I think schmoop bingo is turning into atla/pern bingo. It's fun interpreting the prompts that way. I was angsting over how the fuck to do "Secret Admirer" and then it clicked -- because it's going to be so unbelievably inverted/subverted, but it was still the prompt that gave me the idea.

I'm totally having fun with this. :D

Of course Sokka's going to invent the best harness design ever because he is the greatest and Zuko is. An idiot.

I really liked this, as much as I liked Avogadro's Pern/ATLA stuff, though I haven't read the dragonriders books. Zuko with a dragon buddy would be great in any universe.

The pern books are really only worth reading as an adolescent female. You can mostly successfully reread them as an adult, but by all accounts they don't hold up well if you read them cold as an adult.
