getmesomewhisky ...well, he's the boss. He's a category all his own, and I could probably write you pages upon pages as to why and how and what exactly that entails. Bottom line is, he'll always be the highest priority, and Squalo will always value him more than he does any of you.

Given his and the Boss's word that he was basically varia-bred, he accepted him, and even though he's since learned that Bel really, really fails at life sometimes... Bel is kind of growing on him. They are still both Varia after all.
topmagician Squalo likes Fran. Fran is useful and clever, even though he's occasionally a royal pain in the ass. Still, Squalo likes Fran, and values him as fellow Varia, despite his screaming lack of survival instincts. But then, his famiglia is just cracked that way.

killer_sweets Kil is Squalo's little brother. This has been openly discussed and generally accepted, and though no one has agreed on who has been adopted into what now, it still works perfectly. Squalo would love to take Killua home to his world and have him replace Levi as the Thunder Guardian, but that's a whole different can of worms. His love of dangerous situations only makes him more part of the family, really, because thrill-seeking is something that Squalo is well familiar with, and the stunts Killua has pulled in the past have more than once succeeded in making Squalo laugh.
OTHER CR
allthecolorsof Squalo likes Talim. Talim is pretty, she's cute, but she's not helpless or fragile. Even if she's too naive for her own good, and he's got a sinking feeling she might hate his guts if she knew what he does for a living back at home, but that doesn't mean he's going to just let the opportunity slip by. They're... dating, pretty much, and they started out at Newbark at around the same time, so they're usually in the same area. He loves sparring with her about as much as he enjoys the more 'normal' dates, to be sure, and maybe even a little more than that, but all in all he just really likes her, all the while not really taking this very seriously.
freshbreeze Ven, much like Talim, is a genuinely good, nice person. This confuses Squalo, being used to assassins and mafioso and the dog-eat-dog mentality that exists next to the carefully constructed politics and contracts and rules in his usual life. He is NOT SURE what to make of it, but for right now he doesn't think he minds. Again, he's pretty sure Ven would be kind of horrified if he knew of Squalo's job, so Squalo is hesitant about this whole friendship deal, but at the same time he seems... trustworthy? And he's the only person Squalo has actually talked to about not being too thrilled with the idea of going back home, even though he's left out a lot of the details. In fact, this CR is pretty neatly summed up by

fauxearl Oh dear. Alois. Alois behaves like a fanboy around Squalo. Like an excitable and adorable younger brother. Squalo finds this both amusing and entertaining, and if we're being honest, also kind of endearing. He doesn't think he's got the strength or the determination to learn to swordfight, even though he asked him to teach him, but that doesn't really matter.
