Just checking in to say hi.  Nothing exciting or crazy going on lately.  Just hanging out with the baby girl every day and watching her grow.  Scott put her in her crib last night and when he walked out of her room he looked at me and said "you know, sometimes I just can't believe that she is really my daughter".  Now don't take that the wrong way ( Read more... )

We do a lot of chicken with pasta type stuff. I am getting really tired of that. Tacos, fajitas, etc. Scott hates mushrooms too so I can't make any cool foods with mushrooms. I am looking for something with a lot of flavor and no pasta I guess.

Dinner salads are nice and flexible, especially in the summer. You can mix in different ingredients, and top them with stuff that's quickly and easily prepared (chicken, shrimp, etc.). Alternatively, some main ingredient over sauteed vegetables makes for a nice meal.

Let me see what I've got saved in my "recipes" folder in my email. I used to search thru rec.food.recipes on Usenet a lot then Time Warner dropped them and I have to go thru Google Groups which isn't quite as cnvenient so I dont do it as much. Recipezaar is a good site too and they sent out a monthly email with a bunch of themed recipes, usually geared to the season etc.

I have quite a few casserole-ish things saved for sure, which you could probably make more low-fat, low-sugar really easily by changing a few things. I'll just forward a few to your email :)

Oh, crockpots are great too, then the food could be ready when you walked thru the door :)

Hey! How you is?

That's so cool what Scott said. My dad said that too, according to my mom. He was just bowled over that after 20-some years of trying, I showed up.

I don't have many ideas for dinner. The only one I can share is making stuff on the weekends and freezing it for reheating later on. Dave and I have been eating veggie burgers and they only take 2 min or so in the nuker. They are sooo good.!
