So, I've signed up for NaNoWriMo.  I'm intimidated.  I suppose if I make even half the word count I should get something worthwhile out of it though.

We could do that. Potluck with lots of snack food, laptops, and maybe a DVD to watch after an hour or two of writing?

I do know what my story is. It is about two teenage boys living in a floating city and discovering things about it. It is sci-fi with I'm thinking a fantasy element thrown in. Btw, what is your NaNo name? I want to add you to my buddy list. Mine is sentharia.

Yay! Good luck! I find I learn more in the attempt each year than I ever imagine I would. I'm still a pretty crappy writer, but am definitely getting better.

And don't worry. I've been doing it each year since 2005, and that first year is the only one I made it through the finishing line. I'll keep doing it though. It is a great way to give yourself license to teach yourself this kind of thing.

I'm glad it's helping with your writing. I hope it helps with mine. My writing is okay, but I don't do it often enough to improve like I should. That's my main goal with NaNo. To kick start myself into doing more writing :)
