It's normally not my thing to tell people when they're making a mistake. Especially not cops and competition. [Takes a breath ( Read more... )

So you're a waiter then. Do you like how things are?

No.

So, what? Have you even tried to escape?

Why don't you?

Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. What are you doing? [He's hoping that other people sniffing around for a way off the barge will hide his own attempts.]

Having tea. But go ahead, I wouldn't dream of holding you back.

Tea, huh? That sounds so exciting compared to potential freedom.

You're very good at ignoring the obvious in favor of your own comfortable point of view. You'd fit in great in Sunnydale!

You're looking at it the wrong way. You're good at accepting the obvious instead of questioning your own comfortable point of view. Think a little harder, man.

And fine, I'll bite. What's Sunnydale?

Nothing comfortable about my point of view. And I question it all the time.

Town I lived in for a while. A lot of people died from mysterious neck wounds and the cops never caught on to what was causing them.

Yeah, I doubt that.

Never heard of it. Let me guess. One of those serial killer workers that the media likes to panic over?

I'd say this was the dumbest thing I'd heard today but honestly, today's not over and I may yet be surprised.

So you don't think we're at a port? The new people just teleport in, do they? That seems really likely.

We're on a ship where people come from multiple universes, sometimes after their own deaths, sometimes from worlds where the magic or technology for teleportation actually exist, and you're hung up on the idea that new people just stroll on board and we could all just stroll off again if we only had your unique vision.

Congratulations! You're an idiot.

Technology for teleportation doesn't exist and neither do other worlds. That's just basic common knowledge. If they existed, someone would have found them. And that someone isn't going to be some insane government project prison ship.

So congratulations. You're an idiot.

Get off at a port and escape. Nobody's ever thought of that before. You must be some kind of visionary.

There's no port. Shut up.

How do you know there's no port? We can't see past the space outside, can we?

darknessb4me March 9 2011, 05:12:36 UTC
Have you never seen a teleport spell?

People can't teleport. That would be ridiculous.
