Fun things to hear when you are experiencing minor panic before being put under for an invasive procedure:Tech: (trying to sooth my worries) Are you Christian

What is it with medical providers in Las Vegas? I remember Jedi having problems with one of her medical providers. Different problems, but nevertheless.
Anyway, that was totally uncalled for. You might want to bring it up with your doctor. I hope your results turn out well.
Yes... they seem to be missing sensitivity chips. You mean they aren't like that in different cities?
In fairness, my GP is a lovable, huggable Indian man who actually listens to me when I talk. Of course, he doesn't take my insurance anymore, since they wouldn't pay him; so now I have to pay $50 a visit to see him. Good docs are so hard to find that it is actually worth it!!
Wow. That IS aggravating. On the plus side, there's the three-year vacation from it. On the other hand, cleaning the bathroom. Yikes. On a side note, my FB profile has me listed as Secular Christian. When people ask me what that means, I say that the current state of Christianity in America tends to focus way too much on who Jesus was and not what he was all about (that whole forgiveness/do unto others stuff). I think the philosophy is pretty good. The supernatural yah-yah/church as country club BS I can do without.
At any rate have a great rest of the day. Go getcha some more manga and hole up for a bit.
Sounds like the Christian version of the Jewish community with whom I've been worshiping on the High Holy Days (and sometimes other times) for the past few years - Rabbi says they practice "Just Judaism." It's about social justice and it's not any of the usual formal denominations ... you know, it's just Judaism.
They both sound rational and good. If you remove the mania and the dogma and the "stone throwing" from most religions, the root philosophy is generally a pretty nice one. But there is just about nothing that humans, en mass, can't mess up!!
hence why I call my faith "Universal Belief" in other words, we study all the religious info we can get our grubby little hands on and talk to as many people from as many religions as we can and we take the universal good out of it and that's what we believe. There's a lot more to it than that, but it boils it down pretty well.
The injustice of it all was that I wasn't allowed to have Ginger tea!! Only water, gatorade (vomit) or lemonade (I only like the pink kind and I couldn't have that.)
But it is over now! For three more years!!! And he didn't find any cancer or pre-cancer or anything very dangerous at all. In fact, they were the best results I've had in four years. Yay!!
It turned out extremely well. Thank you! So well, in fact, that I don't need to do it next year. I've been having to do it every single year for the last three.
I think I am a little pissed. For some reason I can't explain, I'm mostly pissed at how much of an idiot she acted like I was when I asked about the doctor's religion. For one thing, I'm sure that there are at least a few Christian Egyptians. Not masses perhaps, but in the states, at least a few. For another she kind of missed the point I was trying to make (ie: "the man you work for is not a christian, and yet you seem to respect him; whither the respect for your patient's beliefs?"). That is not unusual. Perhaps I'm too subtle? (everyone who knows me shakes their heads in frantic disagreement). I'm going to blame my medicated state for not being feistier about making my pointage.
*hugs* I do. Inksheddings picked me up after the appointment (and drove me to as well) and we went for biscuits and gravy. Nommers (after fasting for 24 hours). I don't get to see her enough. It made it almost worth the procedure. ...well, almost.

As for that exchange ... I'm leaning toward the thought that I'd be a little pissed off about that.
