Shojou Manga

Has anyone read Absolute Boyfriend? If so:
How many volumes are there?
Is the series finished?
Does it continue to ramble on, or does it every go anywhere?

Has anyone read Blank Slate (someone on LJ recced it, but I can't remember who!)
Does it ever become easy to understand?

Thanks, experts!!

Absolute Boyfriend is cute, funny and one of my guilty pleasures. Actually, anything from Yuu Watase is my guilty pleasure. Alice 19th is one of my favorites of hers. How can you not love a manga with a bunny girl named Nyozeka? http://www.clho.net/anime/anime.php?anime=Alice+19th

Really? Alice 19 is good, huh? I have to admit, I'm enjoying Absolute Boyfriend more than, perhaps, a 41 year old woman ought. But now that I know I won't break the bank buying 25 volumes, I'm off to le store of bookage to buy the next few. Fweee!!

If you like Ouran, try Millennium Snow. It's written by the same manga-ka as Ouran and it's only 2 volumes.
Lovely Complex is another cute series. Risa is the tallest girl in her class and Otani is the shortest boy. Boy meets girl, girl falls for boy, boy is clueless but they eventually fall in love. You can see the ending coming a mile away but it's a cute manga. There are 17 volumes but you can read them online to see if its anything you're interested in.

I have read Millennium Snow. I thought it was cute, but nowhere close to the level of Ouran.

I don't love reading on line just because the translations are generally so bumpy...

Absolute Boyfriend's a guilty pleasure for me. Its silly and pretty much typical shojo stuff but I like looking at how Yuu Watase's art's improved since Fushigi Yuugi.

It is very cute. Don't tell me how it ends, but I think I want Riko to end up with Soshi and Knight to end up with Gaku. I know that won't happen, but it would be funny!! (And Gaku is kind of a cutie). Don't spoiler me though!!! I just went and bought the last three!

I'm halfway through the first book (found the second at a used book shop, so bought the first as well) and am fairly confused. The second chapter was easier to understand than the first though, so there is hope. (who killed the blonde bounty hunter in the first chapter? Was it zen or the other guy... and who the hell was the other guy? I'm easily confused!)

RE: A.B. - I did not read it but I watched the Japanese tv show of it on line. It was pretty good. Cute but pretty standard story line.

Now that I've finished it, the storyline really reminds me of a fluffy version of one of my favorite books as a teenager. Eerily so. I was expecting a fluffier ending!!

Dude you should know by now that in1/2 of the Japanese stories one of the main characters die. (At least I think that is what happened to the robot man). :P It has been a while since I saw the show. The manga may be different.

I didn't realize that. Keep in mind, this is probably the third series I've actually finished. All the others I read are ongoing and one of the other two I finished was Ouran, which had a super-happy-all-is-awesome ending!! This worries me for my ongoing series. *frets for Saiyuki*

I've finished it now. It reminded me a lot, lot of Silver Metal Lover by Tanith Lee. That was a more serious sci-fi version of the same story (and one of my favorite books in the world. But sooooooo sad!!)

The live-action version sounds cute. Where can one find it?
