Context... a long one.avelyn5280August 20 2007, 20:18:09 UTC
We went to a perty one night at Pennsic a few years back (long before we started dating, and I was actually doing my best to ward him off). He decided he wanted to be "big brother" for the night, so he stayed near my side while I drank and flirted with another gentleman at the party. As a result of his contant presence, he was the one that got to hold my mug or sash or whatever (and at one point the gentleman I was talking to's mug). Thus he was the end-table for the evening, which we still joke about.
Well, we were watching a bad movie last night (Not another teen movie), and at the end, at a prom scene, the best friend who is head over heels of the leading lady (hmm, sounds familiar...) ends up having her purse (and her date's coat) thrown at him to hold (as well as the rest of the prom attendants who hand him their stuff as well).
Shane looked at me at this scene, responding "that looks a bit familiar, huh?) To which I answered with the end-table comment.

Sorry for the *long* explanation.
