hmmm, the santa cruz hills huh? you didn't have anything to do with that fire did you? just kidding. sounds like you are having some good times and getting out of debt.
DUDE! I drove an hour to go see it in IMAX. Then I drove it again 3 days later.
If you're a Speed Racer freak like me, it's got everything you want. They stay real true to the story arc of the series, and they add in a sort of prequel and encore- that is, they show Speed when he's a kid and Rex is still living at home racing (through flashbacks of course, but really well done and there's a good half hour of it), and... well, I can't ruin the end for you, but it's pretty sweet.
They picked all the right actors too. Everyone looks and acts like they should. And if you're a gamer, every race is like watching a video game. It's all like some of kind of insane Mario Kart on acid. They overdid the CGI on the non-race scenes too, in a good way.
And I could babble on about it forever, but I should get to work.
