I just love how you were able to combine Utena and Sucker Punch so seamlessly. They fit so well together! Which, actually, true story -- I never really "got" the Utena movie until I saw SP, then I went back and watched the movie and suddenly, everything made sense! I feel like SP is a less deep and metaphorical version of Utena, tbh.

Yeah, I don't know if it was part of how they were conceptualizing the Utena movie or just that everyone who worked on it had lost their grip on reality by then (I would...probably guess the latter, tbh), but it makes perfect sense to me as something the characters of the show would have dreamed up/hallucinated. And, uh, much less sense otherwise. I loved the idea of SP but was kind of lukewarm on the execution, so...two great tastes that taste great together! Or something.
