It was hard for me. I had far too much time to myself; I wandered malls and bus stations, lost in a sea of people but with no companion of my own. I ate my meals alone, half-conscious of that fact.

It's easy for you now while you have everyone around you. I shudder to think what happens when you're on your own again.
