Fairy and Balloons

I had a great stock shoot yesterday. The model was fantastic. Really great personality and I definitely think it came through in the images. We walked around the Meatpacking District and the West Village and scouted out locations as we went along. The main theme we played with was a fairy with balloons, although we did do two other looks as well. ( Read more... )

number one is my favorite. the framing makes her look small, like she's about to float away.

I hadn't noticed that before but you're right! She does look like she's about to float away. Like she's a little pixie.

These are adorable. I'd love to see them in a larger format than you've posted here--the framing of the first one is neat (I agree with the above poster who says it makes her look teeny) but I'd also like to see more detail.

Ah, an unfortunate side effect of the web. To see the complete picture the image needs to be small, but then it’s hard to see the details. The only way to really see these larger would be as prints :D

I really love all of these. Such pretty colors! I kind of want the first one framed like the last ones because she's looking at the balloons in that one, but whoever said she looks like she's about to float away is also right. Very cool.

I do have a verticle one of the first, where she's closer in like the other two. I was going to post it and then pulled it at the last minute because I thought that it was really too similar. But m'dear since you asked :D

I do also like the original that you posted. :) I just like this pose better than the other two. Looks like her whole body is straining to go with the balloons!

Probably was! That wind yesterday was crazy and the balloons really tugged. It was hard walking around with them at times. Not to mention I probably wacked a few people in the face. Ooops.

Inspired by my Atlanta baloon shoot at all? They're almost like part of the same series, but like urbanan whereas mine were in greenery :)

But she looks happy where as you were grumpy ;-)

No, not inspired, just unfortunate coincidence that that you did that before I got around to these. I’ve been planning this for a while and have just been waiting for the weather to get nice enough to do it. Yeah, everyone does balloons, but believe it or not I haven't seen anything like these for stock at all, which sort of surprises me. I had another balloon shoot planned for Wednesday but that got canceled and now I have a shoot with a pregnant woman instead :D
