Gad. It's been so long since I've posted anything here. Anyway, just an update.
My one-month vacation was over last May 16 and so I decided to start looking for a job. I have submitted resumes to several companies but none of them replied as fast as the one to which my mother submitted my resume. Parang andaya noh, yung nanay ko, nung pinasa nya yung resume ko, ang bilis ng response. Haha.
Anyway, last Monday (June 2), I was scheduled for an interview at Sykes Asia, Inc. at 11 am. Their office is along Quezon Ave. (Actually, hindi ako sure kung Quezon Ave. talaga yun pero kasi pag nag-bus ako, Q ave ang sinasabi ko...) My interviewer was a little late so I had to wait a little longer. When she interviewed me, it was already 12 pm. After her 20-minute or so interview, she told me that she was going to schedule me for the HR exam by 1.30 pm. So, I went downstairs first (my father was waiting for me) and we had our lunch first. I went back upstairs at around 1 pm and I took the exam along with 15 others. After almost two hours, the HR personnel gladly informed us that we all passed. She, then, asked some people to stay in the room for their schedule, but she asked me to wait in the other room. So, I left. When she was done talking with the other applicants, she asked me to come back to the exam room. She told me that I already have a job offer waiting for me at the Ortigas branch. So I told my dad that we need to go to Ortigas that very instant because the HR girl told me that I was expected there. So we drove to One San Miguel Avenue and when I got there, a girl asked me to come inside their work area and then inside a small room. She laid several papers in front of me and told me to read them and sign them if I don't have any questions, and if I would have questions, she'll get back to me in a while. So I read the documents; they were contracts, non-disclosure forms and bank forms. I thought: "My God, they're really hiring me?" My contract would be from June 3 until September 1. When she got back, I asked her a couple of things and then I signed.
So, thank heavens, I am now, after a month of bumming around, employed. Yay!
Anyway, Sykes is a call center company but I will not be answering calls but rather answering e-mails. My shift will be from 8 am to 5 pm. And, one more thing, I would not have my phone althroughout my shift so don't hate me if I won't be able to answer right away.
That's all. ^.^
Thank you for reading! ^.^ Take care and good luck to all of us! ^.^
