Before my head splits open due to head ache, let me recount my tale. Haha.

Saturday

Although I wasn't able to sleep in, my Saturday was awesome. I went to the office because of an operation I volunteered for. We were to go to evacuation sites and assess the condition of their facilities and stuff.

Okay naman, I got to the office on time (10 am ang call time) and we were briefed, shortly after, we were hitting the road. Haha. We went to Pasig. First stop: Kapitolyo.

Ang daming evacuees. The building was in a compound owned by some private person who allowed temporary use of the site. It was an old building. No working faucets, bathrooms, toilets or whatever. Water tanks deliver water for the occupants, but some "residents" claim that it wasn't enough. Na-realize ko, if I was "maselan" with the smell and the sight of the people, siguro I wouldn't be able to take it. These people were most likely those who lived in the squatters area and being in the evacuation centers was better than going back.

We finished interviewing the person in charge and talking to some evacuees in about an hour. It was time to go our next stop: Ultra.

Magkalapit lang naman, but Ultra was housing far more people than Kapitolyo. Sa loob ng Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) compund, merong dalawang shelter: one was the Ultra Stadium itself and the other was Brent Gym. If I thought Kapitolyo was "bad", well, PSI was a little worse. Sobrang daming tao! They look like ants in the picture we took. The comfort rooms inside Ultra were also made bathrooms. Clothes were hanging on the bleachers. Grabe. My first time in Ultra and this was my memory. Hahaha. It was not a game but a site assessment. Hahahah.

Medyo nagtagal kami dun, kasi nga maraming tao at maraming kailangang tignan. At about 1pm, we decided to leave. We had lunch and then went to our next stop: Bambang Elementary School.

Sabi nung mga napagtanungan namin, baha pa daw. The water, they said, was still waist deep. I was wearing jeans (so as my other colleagues) but I had rubber boots. It seemed pointless to put them on because if the water was indeed waist deep, it'll just go inside the boots. They said a boat (or a make-shift boat, perhaps) was available. So I was, errr, excited. Hahaha.

Our car was a Nissan Patrol which I believe is a 4x4. It was high and it was big. It turned out that the water going to Bambang wasn't waist deep; it was just knee deep and our car had no problem going through it. Bollocks. Haha.

When we reached Bamabang Elementary School, the person we talked to said that the evacuees had all been transferred to Ultra because they need the school back to resume classes.

So off we go. We went back to the office at around 3pm. New itinerary: Taguig City.

But as it was, Taguig wasn't flooded any longer. Evacuees had been sent home and the sites were closing.

So yung pagka-excited ko na lumusong sa baha or mag-bangka, walang natupad kahit isa. Haha. Which was a good sign, I guess, 'cause that means everything seems to be going back to normal.

Funny directions we got while asking:
-"Kanan kayo sa may Baranggay Hall, may patay dun." -Traffic person, when asked where we should turn going to Bambang [I laughed when she said it because in the form we had, we needed a land mark. A wake isn't exactly a "permanent" land mark now, is it?]
-"Kaliwa kayo sa may poso." -A bystander, when asked where we Bambang Elementary school was [I laughed at this one to because the area was a housing area. This was like "Kaliwa kayo sa may Jolibee." WTH?!]
-"Diretso kayo sa may dagat." -A bystander, when asked how we could go to Hagonoy, Taguig [Normally, this wouldn't be funny. It's just that, Taguig is a landlocked city right?! And my face fell when he said diretso sa dagat. I thought, "Sure I was asking for flood and boat ride, but I did not ask for a way to the sea, damn it." Hahaha.]

Sunday

After an exhausting Saturday, I dreamt of sleeping in tiday. But my parents had other plans. We went to visit our relatives in San Miguel. It was my cousin's birthday.

Two nieces and one nephew of mine (siblings, they were) were there, too. And although they were the usual talkative and fun-loving kids that they are, something happened (or was related to us) that needs to take a space in this blog.

Rhada, my five-year-old niece, goes to school. And apparently, she's subjected to nuisance called boys. Haha. Probably teasing and tagging and playing or whatever, my wonderful niece got a little irritated perhaps. Know what she did? (I wish she just punched the kid or whatever, what I would've done anyway. Haha.) She touched that little bird down there of the boy. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. When asked what the little boy did or say, she said he did nothing, he just shut up.

*rolling on the floor laughing*

Okay, I better go to bed now, my head is aching badly.
