Has anyone on my flist ever done volunteer work with a charity? In particular Lifeline, women's shelters or other women-centred services, homeless shelters, services for physical/mental disabilities, any other crisis help lines or help centres

Well, you know the Aunt is a telephone counsellor for Lifeline. Actually she's a supervisor now but she started on the phones and went through every bit of training she could get and did a massive amount of shifts because she wanted to. If you like, I can get some pamphlets and such from her or ask her questions for you. What do you need to know exactly? Cos I can tell you way too much. :p
