Now that it's all said and done, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. No matter what went down, I hope each and every one of you was granted at least an ounce of Christmas cheer. Most of you really deserve it.
It all began Christmas Eve. We were going to spend the night at my grandma's place, and I wasn't sure what I'd be needing, so I brought everything, basically. My PS2, CD player, Game Boy Color, a plethora of games and music, and my shorts. You know, for comfort reasons. :P We had dinner over at the Huron House, the only place we tend to frequent that I can get a damn good steak and some boston brown taters. Ooooh man. After we got back and unpacked, we watched a color version of Scrooge, which I was really only watching for Alastair Sim and Michael Hordern, heheh. I didn't realize how much they changed around the original script, but Mr. Sim was still genius. I think Geoff and I should do it again, but on tape, so we can get more of me in there. >D
Christmas Eve is usually the worst night for sleep, and of course this year was no exception. I got to sleep around 12-ish, and stirred awake around 2:30. From that point on I tossed and turned for about 4 hours, until I heard footsteps upstairs. I decided I wasn't getting any more sleep at that point, and headed upstairs to greet the rest of the family, tired as all hell. I suppose the gift-giving woke me up a little, at least enough to get some of my grandma's Christmas morning breakfast in me. I took a nap from about noon until 3, which still didn't really help, so finally I had some coffee, and well... I'm still up now.
As usual, Christmas dinner was amazing. We all went with tradtion and put on those paper crowns you get inside Christmas crackers. Mine was pink, which is why I think it to be some Christmas miracle that it tore when I tried to put it on my gigantic head. If it truly was an act of God, thanks for that God, 'preciate it. :P
This Christmas was the first I've ever been with someone, and it feels like nothing else to be able to whisper "Merry Christmas" to her over the phone the nighr before, knowing that the best gift of all would be with me all year long. :) Thanks for being mine, Tristen. <3
Anyway, time for my annual report of the giftage. Sure, it's not the most important thing about the holiday, but besides how little sleep I got there's not much else to brag about, so here goes:
Items I actually asked for are marked in RED
- Soul Calibur III (fucking awesome game)
- Sin City DVD (one of my two most favorite movies)
- Rammstein's "Rosenrot" (long awaited, currently on loop in my CD drive)
- Slippers (that's right, slippers, I've been wanting these forever)
- Framed photo of Tristen (along with some macaroons and a nice card, thank you darling :D)
- Various chocolate (including a Terry's chocolate orange, ohmanohmanohman)
- Family Guy themed calendar (because I always do wonder what day it is)
- A scratch-off ticket (won $10, woohoo)
- $70 in gift certificates (time to get me some DT and SymX)
All in all, a great haul, another brick in the wall, had a ball, see you next fall.
