My friend Joe (21 years old) is studying History at Edinburgh University and quite desperately needs to find a summer job up there asap to get some funds together. He would consider anything I think, so any leads or useful organisations to contact would be most appreciated

I had a good summer job at Christian Salvesen, in their fruit & veg processing plant down in Granton. Dunno if it is still there, but it used to take on a lot of people over summer. I landed the factory clerk job, which was the best one going. Also good are jobs in QA, where you are basically testing the produce (they like students for those jobs), but even the basic processing and sorting jobs were OK. 12 hour shifts with overtime too, back in the day. But it might be closed now; I worked there a long time ago.
