The weather goons are expecting some frozen rain tonight. Higher elevations in western Wahington can get a lot of snow - and we do have quite a bit of significantly higher elevation around here - but in the lowlands near the water, we get a few inches a year, barely enough to build a decent snowman, and it seldom lasts more than a day.
wry grin I don't call that "snow" - where I lived back East, we always had a white Christmas, often preceded by a white Thanksgiving, with intermittent blizzards right through till Spring. Heh, my last year in Ohio, we had one hit on April 7th; in about 3 hours it dumped enough snow on my little yard for us to build an 8-foot-tall snowman there. The best we ever get around here is what I'd have called "snow flurries" then ( ... )
