Dear Shawn,
We, your best friends, have come to the consensus that you are quite the flaming homosexual. We want you to know that we are 100% behind you, and support you. All we ask is that you stop pretending that you are a heterosexual, and just be honest with yourself. Please Shawn, please.

First of all, who do you think you are, you anonymous so-called "best friends?" Last we checked, we, Laur, Puj, and Rox, were Shawn's best friends. Second of all, even if you are his best friends you could have the common decency to address him with your feelings or alleged "consensus" in a personal fashion, not on a public forum. If Shawn has something to say he will say it and you have no right to speak for him. You say you're behind him 100%? By making an anonymous comment on his live journal about such an issue, we do not quite follow where your "100%" of support lies. Bottom line, best friends don't do this. -Laura, Puja, Roxana
First and foremost, thank you for being ignorant and distasteful.

I think that my "best friends" would have the confidence to address me about such a situation in person, rather than through an anonymous post on my blog. If you really are my "best friends" and this is the way that you choose to communicate with me, then there are many people that I need to cut out of my life.
Secondly, I feel that I am rather comfortable in my sexuality, and that I do not need to justify myself to anyone but myself. So if you feel that I am a "flaming homosexual" please go right ahead. I know who I am, and I am happy with that.
And, most importantly, I know that I am more than who I sleep with, so please don't try to classify me through your archaic binary systems.

Shawn, I give you alot of credit for handling the ignorant post so well. You said it beautifully, you are more than who you sleep with. I think you are an amazing person and anyone who is a best friend, new friend, or coworker knows this as well. Being content with who you are is a very mature thing to admit. Hell, I am still striving to be 100% comfortable with who I am and I have a good 7 years on you, kid. :-) -Erin
::smile:: shawny-shawn shawn, I always smile when I think of you. I am also incredibly priveleged to know you every time I read your beautiful thoughts and words. You are amazing. in.every.way. Regina
