Rain, teeth and electonic chaos

Monsoons are here. Pulled out my authentic Lunenburg N'or Easter bonnet (see new icon) and it feels so warm and cosy that I've decided to wear it all day, even inside ( Read more... )

when I had braces they had this stuff at the orthodontist's office that was a kind of semi-soft wax. Perhaps you could drop in somewhere as ask for that? or maybe they even have it at drugstores? It was great for keeping the pokey wires and stuff from hurting my lips/tounge.

Thanks for the tip Amy! I think this one has smoothed off enough on its own, but I'll get some for future dental ER!

you can get some temporary filling material at the drugstore for a couple of bucks - i think it's called dentemp - that should keep you from razorcutting your tongue

just hop in a boat and paddle to the store

Dentemp...ok I'll seek it out. Unfortunately this happens too often as the old metal fillings apparently cause teeth to crack over time. I've had most of them replaced by ceramic fillings but...

No kidding about rowing to the store! A brief respite today but more raininess predicted for the next 5 (!!) days.

What a hoot! Love the icon girlie! Whassup with the glasses though?! As Amy mentioned you can get wax from the drugstore to protect your cheeks - Norma Jean has a bunch that I could send you but you'd likely have it already fixed by the time Canada Post gets it to you. Hang in there! :)

Thanks sis. Dental goo is now on my shopping list. I DID get an appt. with the dentist for next week too.

I'm getting lots of smiles as I parade around the Village in my Nor'easter! And the glasses...for over a year I've needed them for any kind of reading or close work. They're just those drugstore magnifiers, but I'm about to move from the +1 to +2. Ahh age sucks!

Ask sister Jen meadowood and maybe she'll do a barter for one Windi. Lots of gift shops in Nova Scotia carry them. Sad though that hardly anyone there wears them anymore.

And I think we need to invent an unpopped popcorn sifter!
