Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sykora isn't exactly someone you guys need up front really considering that prior to getting Samsonov at the deadline, you guys were scoring goals fine. Wouldn't it make more sense to go after a defenceman to fill the void left by Pronger. Also no sorry Ladislav Smid, is no Pronger, what you guys need is some more defence, I mean right now Jason Smith is your no 1 D-man if I'm not mistaken, and considering you guys have to face d-men like Niedermeyer, Lidstrom and Zubov in the West, I'd consider tryign to actaully land a big fish like that.
Second, if its not done, than its not done, that TOOL Eklund has reported rumors that stuff was going to get done, such as Belfour going to Detroit, that didn't end up happening, so I'd wait to see if Sykora is actaully going to land there (I'm not sure how legit the source is).

My argument mainly is they don't need a guy like Sykoria (as first priority), teams like Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary etc have very exceptional back ends which they upgraded (well not so much Detroit in goal). Edmonton has Roloson and thats it....its just going to be tough to make the playoffs with all these teams upgrading.

Detroit upgraded their back end? Calgary did? Huh? Detroit added Markov, they hardly made serious changes. Calgary didn't add anyone on D and lost Leopold
