July is here! And that means the weather is finally getting nice. Unfortunately, one of our first hikes of the season on the 1st ended up being cloudy most of the time. Steve, Matt and I still had a lot of fun though.
I was a little disoriented after the 15-mile ride up a dirt road to get to the trail head. Excelsior Pass up at Mt. Baker.
This was probably the best view we got the whole day.
Most of the hike was in clouds, which was kind of cool. This was when we reached the peak.
We sat on the edge of the world for awhile, waiting for our amazing view to come out of the clouds.
Unfortunately, it never really did, so we were a little disappointed.
Can't leave that one without a crazy Shawno face. haha.
This last weekend on the 3rd and 4th, Matt and I brought Joe and Steve out to my cabin on Vashon. The weather was absolutely gorgeous the whole time. Couldn't have asked for better.
Joe and I on the ferry ride over.
Steve looking very stoic.
This is probably the only time you'll get all three of us in a serious photo with no crazy faces going on.
We tried our luck with the crab pot and actually ended up catching 11 altogether. We kept four (here are two)
Playing with our food, haha.
This was our biggest one after he was cooked. He measured about 9 inches across, which is pretty huge for a crab.
Crab feast!!!!
The next day there was a -1.4 tide so we found a lot of cool stuff on the beach. Joe found this "wizard's staff" haha.
On the way back we were all really tired, but we had a great weekend!! And I kicked Steve.
Two adventures down, many more to go this summer. Next: Backpacking on the 15-18 at Ross Lake. Woo!
