The Past Six Months (the Cliffs Notes version)

Jun 18, 2013 08:58

I can't believe it's summer already!

I also can't believe it's been 6 months since I last posted here.  I have plenty of excuses for why I haven't been on LiveJournal.

The main reason for my absence is that I went back to school and started working part-time.  Now that the children are older and in school for a large part of the day, I wanted to do ( Read more... )

I don't blame you for wanting to be more productive! And taking college classes definitely helps, even if it takes another chunk of your time. @_@
Good of you to take a part-time job, too. Watching munchkins can be a handful.

Between work and exercise and other stuff, my schedule is busy that I haven't had time to take another online class in months!

You're not the only one who missed Fanime, I haven't attended since last year due to being overseas and my own leave budget. I couldn't make it this year due to work-related circumstances. I don't know when my next anime con will be either, though I am due back to the US in September, so we'll see.

Good to hear from you again!

Watching munchkins is definitely a handful. You know how people complain about teen drama? We yard duty supervisors have to deal with school-age drama! Oh, the drama when you're 7 years old! The kids fight about the silliest things.

It's good that you've been keeping busy and exercising, too. I really need to exercise more!

Thanks. It's good to be back. =)

I think I'd much prefer school-age drama over every other kind of drama.

I have to agree with you. However, for kids this age, the smallest things are like a HUGE freaking deal! It's exhausting to referee between them all the time! For example, one time, three girls accused two boys of trying to "steal" their "crystal". The boys said that the "crystal" was theirs and that the girls took it from them. ("We found it first. It's ours!" "Nuh-uh. We found it first. It's ours!") And so it went back and forth.

The "crystal" was a white colored rock - and not even that shiny.

Really? Fighting over a rock? Really? I had to work really hard not to laugh or roll my eyes at them. ^_^

Don't feel bad about not posting in forever. Looking at my journal, it's been over a year since I last wrote anything. *sigh* I really need to update it ( ... )

I enjoy helping out at the kids' school. I like getting to know the teachers and the staff. ^_^

Typically, it would take two years as a full time student to get an A.A. in Accounting. I'm not going to school full time, so it will take longer. I'm guessing probably three years?

It's a good idea. I'm considering taking them to SacAnime. But I don't know if we'll have time. We have a lot of things planned for this summer and by the time SacAnime comes around, the kids will already be back in school.

I can't wait to see your costumes. Which characters are you cosplaying?

I'm working on a fem Flapper version of the Ninth Doctor and a fem Victorian version of Watson. Last year I had a fem Victorian version of the Ninth Doctor, which I'll be bringing back for the con. I'm part of cosplay groups for all of them, which is a lot of fun. (Though I'm running out of time and still need to finish Nine. ACK!) I have pictures of Victorian Nine that I keep meaning to post (as they're a year old already), but I just haven't gotten around to it yet...
