This is beautiful, sweet, heartbreaking, and woot! it's got the Canadiana right! *happy Albertan dance!* *g* Thank you for giving a legitimate and likewise heartbreaking reason for Carson's absence, and thank you also for those great little details about the anatomical earrings. I happen to know someone who'd adore that sort of thing in RL ... ;-)

I like the premise of the series, and look forward to reading the rest as they're ready.

hehe! I love the earrings too, I wish I had some. All I've got are eyeballs someone gave me as a joke one year. *joins you in the Alberta dance* Fear the Canadians. thanks for commenting, and I hope to have the rest up.. uh... soon. Yes, soon.

I can't remember the title, the author, or even the pairing (it may have been Sheppard/Zelenka but statistically it's more likely to have been McKay/Sheppard ;-) ) but I recall reading a very sweet story that involved John having his spleen removed after an injury, and this whole discussion of "being careful in matters involving the spleen" as a play on "matters of the heart" ... your mention of the miniature spleen earrings brought that back to mind. :-D

What part of Canada are you in, or is that *you* I see dancing on my street this morning? *g*

It was probably me. *hides in shame* Actually, I'm from Calgary most of the time. Occassionally I relocate to Victoria, but usually it's Calgary.

Aw! This was great. That makes so much more sense for an exit for Carson than what really happened.

Honestly, when I first heard Carson would be leaving the series, this is what I thought would happen. Then I actually watched Sunday, and my reality kind of warped. So now I can go back and play in my happy little bubble of denial. Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you liked it!

I admit that by the pairings alone I might not have read it but when I clicked on the entry and saw who left a comment I just had to read it. And I am glad I did!!!

It's an incredibly cute and heart-wrenchingly bitter-sweet story.

I really liked the small episodes you picked from Rodney's (and his family's) life to give us some more insights on his character. Especially the scene with the new born Jeannie, the death of his Mum (*ducks as she thinks of Inky's reprimand*) and the one where he went to the ranch after Kelly died... *sighs*

Thanks for this wonderful story!

Lovely, just lovely to see Rodney in this light--and sad as it is, I like your reason for disappearing Carson a lot better!

This is absolutely stunning. I love your explanation of Rodney's snark, and the way he's vulnerable but not in a way that anyone who's alive will recognise
