"Move in with me."
It was a Tuesday when Sehun asked - casually, over bubble tea - and Lu Han had said "okay", without a moment's hesitation. It would be a lie, if he said he hadn't expected it. It was the natural course, right? They'd been dating seriously for months, and Sehun's roommate had just moved out to the coast for some cushy office job -- so, really, he'd have to have been blind to not see that invitation coming.
Sehun was almost always the one to initiate, not because Lu Han was skittish or shy -- on the contrary, he was four years Sehun's senior, and he had always been lucky when it came to making friends and getting close to people, as easy for him as breathing. But Sehun, Sehun had been the first to fall in love. Lu Han had watched it happen, found it familiar. He'd broken more hearts than he cared to acknowledge, and he didn't anticipate this being any different. He wasn't looking for anyone, at that point. He didn't need Sehun the way Sehun needed him.
Or, that was what he'd thought, at the time. But, when Sehun kissed him goodnight on his doorstep, he hadn't felt any desire to pull away. So he'd pulled him closer, instead -- and that was the start of a trend, the trajectory they were still traveling on, together.
So, yes, moving in together had been the next logical step.
It was so easy, with Sehun. Lu Han still wasn't completely used to that, wasn't used to waking up every morning and still being in love. But he was -- god, he was.
It was impossible not to be, when Sehun's fingers locked so perfectly with his, when Sehun frequently surprised him with his favorite foods and curled so comfortably around him in bed. A sudden smile could still make his heart skip and his face heat up embarrassingly -- neither of which Sehun teased him for, even though Lu Han was pretty sure he knew. Sehun always knew, probably more than anyone gave him credit for.
Lu Han could read it now, the quiet confidence in those broad shoulders, behind those sleepy eyes that saw everything. Confidence, in everything he did.
"Are you coming in?" he asked, poking his head around the sliding shower door, and Lu Han nodded.
"Yeah." How could he not, when Sehun looked so beautiful soaking wet -- like that one day, they'd been caught in a sudden downpour and had been soaked through by the time they'd made it back to his apartment, cursing and laughing at the puddles they were leaving everywhere. He'd caught the worst cold of his life, and Sehun had spoiled him with porridge and good tea and all the old cartoons his heart desired. That was when it had first hit him, that this was love.
Lu Han shrugged out of his clothes and stepped under the steady stream of hot water when Sehun made room for him, letting the warmth seep into his shoulders and to the very depths of his bones. Sehun's lips were on the back of his neck and he smiled, quietly pleased. It was so nice, this way. To be so comfortable that he could turn and push wet bangs off of Sehun's forehead and kiss him as much as he wanted. Those lips, that stubborn chin, that endless neck... All of it was his, and he reveled in that knowledge, marking milk white skin with shower wet kisses.
Sehun let him work the shampoo into his hair, then, tilting his head patiently and closing his eyes. He was so beautiful, like this. Lu Han wanted to kiss him, always wanted to kiss him, and so he did -- and Sehun smiled.
His eyes tracked the bubbles as they ran down down down that long torso to thin hips, all the way down till they disappeared around their feet, and Sehun laughed. "Like what you see?"
A few months ago, he would've been flustered to have been caught looking and had been -- but now, all he did was smile and tilt his face up for a kiss. "Very much." And he patted Sehun's butt fondly just to hear that laugh again.
