The lack of page linking is a feature, not bug, according to AH, who explained it was 'cuz otherwise if you were reading through the archive not as it updated, that from page 005919 you could go to any of the 3 options in any order, and if you went to the Scratch pages first and it linked straight through, you'd miss the other ones. (which is what I was assuming was going on.)

Hmm, I was assuming it was Aradia but you're right, it might not be...Aradia's ancestor/descendent is definitely possible? Or else a Rose-Aradia ectobiology combination??? (fwiw AH in the Q&A referred to her as "Aradia (???)", so, yeah...???)

(and is she possibly the batterwitch? because we know Betty Crocker's not human, so...(also bettyc rocker is the right number of letters for a troll name, which almost definitely a coincidence except for when it comes to Homestuck, YOU NEVER KNOW! XP)

Ah! You're right. I didn't notice that a link to 5936 has shown up on the 5919 page. I thought there was no link at all, which seemed strange to me, but then it makes sense.

"Aradia (???)" is exactly how I would refer to her as well. XD Good to know AH is trying to to spoil people. (This of course doesn't mean she's not Aradia. He did the "WV?" thing in canon with the pre-exiles even though it was pretty obvious who they were from the beginning.)

But I'm curious... For all I know the answer is none of the above. Whatever she is is probably what will make the biggest possible tangle of timelines, because that is how this story works. XD

You know, I had never even noticed that all the trolls have names with 6-6 letters. HUH.

Wait wait, given recent revealings - is Jade's grandson actually the version of her grandpa from the post-scratch reality?????? now the player of the game while Jade is the guardian/dead like grandpa??? doesn't he almost have to be?!?

YES. OMG. YOU'RE RIGHT AND THAT'S THE ONLY EXPLANATION THAT MAKES SENSE WAAAH.

In the other reality Jade would have been in Nanna's place and Grandpa would have been in John's place. So he would have been Jade's grandson. O_O

And he mentioned that he knew he and John would meet. Which according to the rules of paradox space means they already has. Had. Will had. >_> So he's been exchanging letters and gizmo's with our Jade through the alternative timeline barrier? To influence Jade's quest? He also mentioned that the whole bunny thing wasn't his idea to begin with. Which is kind of a bad sign, because unseen manipulative advisers tend to be Scratch. And since the bunny was the very thing that gave made it possible for Jack to kill the Black Queen and gain all that power in the first place - no way that wasn't intentional.

...putting aside the OMG KARKAT'S ANCESTOR which I have been dying to know about...the implications for the kids' session is that the world be restarted as a troll-like world of horrific trials, and the kids will be their own guardians (Dave training Bro??!) and omgomgomggrwkfrw5ai0e%TR$(af!!!!11!!!!

(and the "Aradia" might then be the pre-scratch version of her ancestor e.g. a hero of the last session of Sgrub who wasn't strong enough to make it???)

Also omg if Karkat's ancestor remembered his past life, on a peaceful Alternia - NO SMALL WONDER he suffered. Badly enough for it to be passed down to Karkat, I shouldn't wonder...

(also the potential for crazy AUs just got SQUARED, oh AH...it is so good there is a fandom for this thing because honestly it would be a tragedy if it didn't have one...)

I KNOW RIGHT!!? If Karkat's life sucks now, his Ancestor's life must have sucked so much more. Especially if he remembered that the horrible troll society was ALL HIS FAULT (being Karkat, of course he'd blame himself for them making that choice!). ;_;

Hey, the trolls as members of a peaceful society in the distant alternative past would be a lot more interesting than all those all human AUs if you want to go down the "normal kids" route. ^^

Jade is obviously taking to the choice to make the scratch and restart the session, because that's what Karkat said she was doing. And he also said that she knows what she's doing because she's been listening to Doc Scratch. ;____;

But the plan is that they will cross AH's "yard" and end up as themselves in the new session (together with their new selves), and Scratch seems to dismiss AH as nonsensical (With good reason. Him being the creator and all WHAT), so perhaps that part of the plan is not Scratch's?

...I didn't think about that, because it's Scratch's presence that made Alternia horrible, and Earth doesn't have Scratch -- but neither did Alternia before its heroes scratched the game. So. O_____O (The thought of Bec!Scratch is kind of ridiculous and terrifying.)

No one said that Scratch's Master's arrival is the reason for every time the game is scratched, but then again no one said it wasn't so, either. And and and the kids being their own guardians is so completely messed up and amazing and John's reaction about the prospect of meeting alternative selves seems to be more than justified! (Would that make John Hero!Nanna's Grandpa? He and alt!Jade might be dead before the game even started.)

Um. But. Wow. The implications of this - okay, troll society is horrible and cruel and makes perfect sense if it was all created to allow the troll players to beat Sgrub and. UM. ALL THEIR FAULT. OOPS? Except without that all they had going for themselves were doom and total annihilation after Sgrub got started. Everyone who lived up to that point was fine, but. Um. I guess they made their choice for the sake of actually having future generations?

Because they're doing so well with all that right now. *facepalm*

Oh, oh, and we'll find out more about Karkat now?! :D

Yes you do need to read it closer! You made time to read it once, you can make time to read it twice! ^__^ (It's so much more fun the second time around when you see the larger picture!)

I think the original troll players were being had. They thought they were all heroic and good and allowing their people another new chance - by basically sacrificing everything that made them worth saving in the first place.

And, I mean, it worked. The current troll players did beat the game. Things only went straight to hell after that, when Jack arrived. And although the reason Jack arrived is so wrapped up in timey-wimey paradoxes that it's basically EVERYONE'S FAULT EVER, it definitely wasn't part of what the original troll players thought was the deal.

Anyway, Karkat's Ancestor!! I WANNA KNOW!!!
