I should go to bed but Homestuck has updated and I've already watched the vid several times and I'm going *squee* and *eeep* and *OMG* and *ooooh* and *waaaah*!!! Not necessarily in that order.

I've only watched it once, need to watch it again because I only got maybe half of what you mentioned (okay, a bit more than that, but still, there was SO MUCH going on...)

How did Dave get the godhood anyway?! I thought he couldn't...? or is that just being mid/post-scratch so out of Trollian sight???

And yes, are the trolls all going to stay dead, or will something else happen? what will happen to anyone now? the fourth wall has been quite thoroughly penetrated...if they crossed that one yellow yard and made it through the other window...but that was to Alternia, and Alternia's universe just got...WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!?

(the tumor, the scratch - ghost slime for dying universes; paradox clones of the universes themselves?? Is that what take 2 of Alternia was, a paradox clone???)

Remember what Scratch told Rose about the trolls being unreliable sources of information? The trolls couldn't see anything that happened beyond the scratch point, so as far as they knew, John was the only one who reached God Tier. Turned out they were very wrong about that!

Karkat's feed blacked out just moments before Jade died, so he didn't even know that part... (And I'm so so happy that AH didn't decide to troll fandom and get to Jade's "dead" panel before the hiatus. That would have been horrible.)

Yes, but I thought last we saw the 4th walls and the yardstick, AH had positioned them to be facing each other, likewise: \/? So you'd go through one, cross the yellow yard, and then crash through the next, which led to Scratch's place on Alternia? Or did he then reposition them later?

(The biggest question with Scratch is just whose side is he on - is he really serving Lord English faithfully? Or does he have a greater agenda? Or is AH using him, or...AAAAAAAAAAAH DON'T KNOW!)

And I definitely need to go watch it again, and with the bro, too, two minds might be better than one, even if they're both 'sploded!

Ah, you mean like that... Didn't think of that. I just sort of assumed Fourth Walls can go anywhere they want to go?

Scratch does seem to be serving Lord English, but who knows? He could be lying about telling the truth? Although I kind of like his truth policy, because it's more interesting to wonder what he means than wondering about outright lies...

AH was nice enough to include a convenient pause button in this mega-animation. It's very useful (not the least because a lot of the art is very pretty!).

Okay, just rewatched it with the bro - twice - so I've seen it 4 times now, AND, bro had Realizations:

The Most Important Character in Homestuck - is not Gamzee; it's Cal, sitting on Gamzee's lap, Watching.

The Green Sun did explode - that was how Dave and Rose ascend to God Tier. And they did it with Aradia's help. Because she cheated - those weren't actually Dave & Rose's quest beds, but the troll quest beds - of Time and of Light, i.e. the beds of the two trolls who were already Godtier.

Aaaaaargh, you're right!! CAL. I've had the crack theory that Cal is Lord English for a while now, OMG what if it's true. O____O

And yeah, it sort of seems like the Green Sun exploded - there was a countdown, and something killed Dave and Rose after all. But on the other hand, it didn't look much like an explosion - it sort of turned fuzzy? And more importantly, Jack, Jade and PM still have the First Guardian powers, so it seems it didn't quite work the way it should have. The Green Sun dispersed but wasn't depowered?

That's an interesting theory about the quest beds! I wasn't thinking they were quest beds at all - I thought they were coffins of the kind Aradia's dreamself was in when she was godtiered... Because the circumstances seemed more similar to Aradia's godding than the "normal" way. And Scratch did say there were two different ways to get into God Tier, and dying on a quest bed is just one of them.

It definitely makes sense that Aradia placed them there, though!

Cal is too small for the cape, though, but... Yes. It wouldn't exactly explain things, but it would fit. And it's not like this comic doesn't have precedent of dolls going through time shenanigans and becoming alive, either! (I wonder what happened to Liv Tyler the Bunny? Was it destroyed in the Green Sun explosion ( ... )
