The lovely naye suggested a blogstice around midsummer to get back into the habit of posting. And she has a point. I just tend to think I have nothing to say. :P

14 km is amazing! I can't remember the last time I walked nearly so far. And you found strawberries, too! ♥ Sorry to hear you had a fever yesterday, though. Egh. Hope it's nothing that will flare up again, as long as you're careful with that burning orb of death in the sky.
A book from 1670? About Japan? WOW. How can you even read it?! It sounds fascinating! And very, very strange - like a background manual to some absurd fantasy role playing game, only actually 100% real.
I hope your strawberry cake was delicious! Glad midsommar! \o/
I think the illness might have been dehydration. Because I didn't think to drink enough. ^^;
I love reading old books! Old language is fascinating! Like, did you know that the word "several" used to mean "different"? As in, "they all went back to their several homes", and "he did this for two several reasons".
And old ways of thinking is even more so! The extremely Christian worldview, and the way cruelty is such a natural aspect of life, and the absolute othering of the Japanese even though there is also a bit of respect (except in matters of religion. Of course.). It's a different world, and a pretty scary one, but it gets so much closer when reading what they wrote directly...
It's nice to blog, I should do more of it too, in lots of ways. Sounds like a healthy walk, beside the fact that you got "solsting". And cake. Mmm... Gotta love cake! (Cake or death!) Reminds me that I gotta blog about my midsummer. ^^
