Summary: Post S5 (speculative); canon to the end of S4. Gwen and Arthur have been married for several years. Merlin's magic had been revealed and Arthur has now reached a kind of cold peace with it. Then a delegation arrives from a kingdon based on magic, and suddenly destiny is starkly and ruthlessly to the fore. The question is, should - can - it be avoided?

Artist's notes: My thanks, first of all, go to the_muppet for gathering us all together again this year to bring forth this amazing Big Bang. For her incredible organization and being there to make sure we could always haunt her with questions and trouble if needed.
Huge thanks go to my writer mcshame, who put up with all my RL issues that seem to get together in one go and cramped up my time for drawing and replying to her and her cheerleader. She wrote such an amazing story that I wished I could have drawn more than those few tiny things that I put together.

Artist's Note: Hmm... what to tell you... This was inspired by the last scene in mcshame's story. Gwen's skin is a bit too light colored but I liked how it turned out.
And drawing horses? A pain! Can't draw animals, but they at least look like horses. the two shadowy figures in front are suppossed to be Arthur and Merlin.

Artist's Note: Okay this is the one that took me like forever to finish! I haven't drawn DINA2 sized drawing in forever. I thought I was never ever going to finish it and on top of that I kept adding details to those wheels like crazy. XD
Then I had nowhere to scan it because it was so huge and the print shop that assured me that "yes we can scan it" went all "upps can do afterall" because the paper was to frail. Frail?! ... okay maybe, but it was mistake~~ I had already started drawing the clean version on it, before I noticed that I should have used a different one~~~ *wail*
But alas here it is! My quest to get it to you was successfull (more or less, it's a bit too pale) *laughs*

Artist's Note: Last of the colored ones... I really wanted to draw the scene where Gwen and Merlin try to talk to each other after everything. The scene in the story was so emotionally loaded, that I really wanted to put it to paper. At first this was supposed to be only in gray colors, but since I didn't like the other two with Kilgaraah and the magic+arrows (I won't go further into it, don't wanna spoil anyone) that I have, and won't post them because of the very same, I decided to rather give this one some color. ... Should probably have added some bg *fail*
