If the morning sickness wasn't a complete giveaway, then the protruding bellies sure were! Nancy and Olive found themselves pregnant--at the same time. Naturally, this came as quite the surprise for both college girls. Nancy was especially surprised after having spent time in the Greek House with the second generation of Smiths when many of the girls in the house got pregnant. Nancy hadn't been one of them that time around, but it seemed that history was repeating itself and thought to include her this time. Olive was just surprised that she and Joe had been so careless. Being pregnant in college was not going to be easy.
Noah was the first person Nancy told and he took the news surprisingly well. He was more than a little shocked and a tad overwhelmed at the thought of being such a young father, but he knew that together, he and Nancy could handle it.
And to ensure that he and Nancy did stay together, Noah chose that moment to propose. It seemed to be a bit too shotgun-wedding like, but Noah had been planning on proposing to Nancy before she graduated anyway. The pregnancy was just speeding up the process. Nancy was overjoyed with the proposal and accepted the ring gleefully. She was fully confident that this would be an engagement she wouldn't ever have to break off. She was so proud of herself for giving Noah a chance and having the strength to love again after that mishap with Aiden.
Joe also took the news of Olive's pregnancy very well. Despite being a Romance sim, he was very fond of Olive and he assured her that he'd be there to support her through whatever. He also made sure to bring up how much the pregnancy made her glow, something Olive loved to hear. Sometimes flattery did get you somewhere.
For those in the house who weren't pregnant, life carried on normally. Ava wasn't even surprised to hear that Olive and Nancy were pregnant--Daria had told her about the wave of pregnancies during her time at the AHC House. Daria told her to make sure they were all super safe, but apparently, some couples hadn't been safe enough. Ava thought it was a little funny; maybe there was some kind of fertility curse on the Greek House.
Carver and Kittredge thought a little differently. For one, they didn't find the situation quite as amusing as Ava did. Secondly, they were sure there was some kind of fertility bonus, but in the Smith's genes. They were worried it was getting a little out of control. They didn't even know the half.
When they weren't taking care of themselves or doing coursework, Nancy and Olive often hung out and talked about how their respective pregnancies were progressing. It didn't go unnoticed that their children would be the same age and the oldest of the fourth generation of Smiths. Nancy was already planning play dates in her head. Or maybe that was just the effect of the bubble blower.
Perhaps it was also the effect of the bubble blower that prompted Olive to propose to Joe, but whatever pushed her to get down on one knee, he accepted! That made two engaged couples in the house, both with a baby on the way. Carver and Kittredge hoped this wouldn't become a trend in the house.
Noah and Nancy, being the first to get engaged, were also the first to get married. They had a small reception and invited a few of their college friends who weren't in class during the wedding. Noah didn't even bother to call his parents and just tell them he got married. All the kids were secretly afraid of what their parents' reactions would be to how their college life was going. Little did they know that Daria and Bill would've been the ones to be the most understanding and helpful in such a situation.
It was a lovely ceremony with their own original vows. Neither had ever been happier than they were in that moment. Everyone clapped and cheered as Noah placed the wedding ring on Nancy's ring finger and vice versa. It was a beautiful day at La Fiesta.
However, back inside the house, not everything remained joyous and beautiful. Cassidy, who was tired of getting beat up by Noah every time she confronted him, had moved on to a new and seemingly wimpier target: Jesse. Jesse wasn't confrontational by any means and he was a little intimidated by Cassidy's fierceness, but he was prepared to fight if it came to blows. Cassidy got along well with most of the women in the house, but when it came to the Smith boys (besides Clay, of course), she just seemed to have something against them. No one could figure out what or why.
Noah and Nancy's wedding was quickly followed by Olive and Joe's, which was just as simple and beautiful as the one before it. The procession occurred at night, which just made it all the more elegant. Some of the guests made jokes about Joe, saying that it was hard to tell which one of them was pregnant. Olive hadn't even noticed her husband had put on a few pounds and even if she had, she wouldn't have cared at all. As she'd said in her vow, she loved Joe--all of him--no matter what.
The morning following Olive and Joe's marriage, another grand event occurred. This one was a little more unexpected and not quite as glamorous as the others though. Clay, who had previous experience with alien abductions, had been looking through the AHC's telescope with no intention of getting abducted again. Of course, the thing about alien abductions was that you never knew when they were going to come for you.
When Clay was thrown back to Earth, the AHC House greeted him outside. Or rather, everyone just laughed at him. He didn't find anything very funny though. Clay claimed that whatever they'd done to him up there hurt worse than when he'd been abducted as a teenager. He felt very odd as well, but he just blamed that on the abduction.
Carver and Kittredge shared an indescribable look. Having worked in Strangetown for so long, they knew exactly what followed an alien abduction. "This is going to be interesting," Kittredge mumbled, shaking her head. The Smiths would never be a normal family, would they?
Swept up in the trend of romance, engagements and weddings, Ava quickly proposed to Trent. Ava tended to strive for perfection and as the oldest child, she'd thought there was a lot of pressure on her to be a good example. She was convinced that Trent was not only a perfect man, but the perfect man for her and she knew that together they would be the greatest example of a strong, steady couple that the Smith family had ever seen. Trent didn't even hesitate to accept Ava's proposal. He couldn't (and didn't want to) think of a single reason to think twice about marrying Ava.
A few nights later, only minutes apart from one another, Nancy and Olive went into labor. They were both on different floors, but their screams could be heard echoing throughout the entire house.
They both had one child...
Olive gave birth to Aaliyah Smith, a girl with her great-grandmother's eyes, her mother's skintone and her grandmother's brown hair. Olive thought she was a gorgeous little girl.
Nancy gave birth to Scott, a boy with his father's eyes, his mother's skintone and his grandmother's brown hair. Nancy was proud of her very cute son and she was surprised to find how much she treasured the little bundle in her arms.
Soon it became very clear that the Smith family was expecting even more bundles! Clay was extremely shocked to find himself with child! That sure explained the queasiness he'd been feeling ever since the abduction, but Clay couldn't believe he'd been impregnated by aliens. "This didn't happen the last time," he mumbled to himself, but what was done was done.
Clay wasn't the only Smith who was pregnant though. Ava was also carrying Trent's baby. When she'd found out, she'd just rolled her eyes and blamed it on that fertility curse. She was supposed to be the role model sibling and yet, here she was, following in her siblings' footsteps. She thought it was absolutely ridiculous, but being with child was also a reason for her and Trent to speed up their wedding. Ava was convinced that pretty soon, Clay and Cassidy would be married and expecting a child as well. It was as if they'd already graduated from college!
However, just because they were married, it didn't mean that thoughts didn't stray...
It just meant that the married parties would have to do their best to make sure it was only their thoughts that strayed.
Pretty soon, it was time for the first couple of birthdays to roll around. Noah and Joe brought their son and daughter (respectively) to their birthday cakes. Unfortunately, most people had evening classes that semester, so only a handful of the house members were around to celebrate Aaliyah and Scott's birthday.
Both of them grew up beautifully! Aaliyah looked more like her great-grandmother Jane, but that might've just been because of her eyes. She definitely had her mother's nose. Scott looked like a perfect mix of Nancy and Noah and he was a very cute little boy.
As Ava's pregnancy advanced, Olive found herself pregnant--again! She certainly hadn't been expecting to get pregnant again, but these things do happen--especially to the Smiths. The house members were just grateful that the house was so large and that they had enough money if building was necessary, because at this point, there were a lot of sims living in the Greek House.
And the pregnancies kept coming. Nancy was very close to graduating and her coursework was getting a little harder. Being pregnant and already having Scott wasn't making college any easier, but she didn't want to give Scott away or abort this unborn child either. In fact, she wouldn't have changed her college experience thus far at all. Except...maybe she wouldn't have gotten engaged to Aiden back in the day. That was something she definitely could've done without. The good thing about having babies in the AHC house was that there was always someone around to take care of the children. No matter how busy they were, the AHC members were always there to support one another.
Well, almost all of them. There was still a lot of fighting in the house and some of the fights seemed random and inexplicable. Nancy and Olive had no idea why their spouses were fighting with each other, but perhaps Noah got wind of Joe's old want to fall for Nancy? In that case, he'd have to protect both his wife and his sister... However, that didn't seem to be the case. Maybe they just didn't get along? Whatever the reason, it wasn't a good environment for the children to grow up in.
Jesse, who had been laying low during all the sudden drama in the house, used most of his free time to sneak off and see Emmy. He was always safe with her even though the house fertility curse wouldn't effect her; Jesse didn't want to take any chances. He was a Romance sim and even though he'd been lacking in the romance department, he didn't want any children to tie him down to one woman. He needed to explore the world and explore his prospects. Maybe after a couple of years of random fun, he'd settle down--like his parents did.
Or, maybe that day would come faster than he thought. Jesse's wants and fears were very conflicting, but the one thing he was sure about was that he wanted to have fun with Emmy. Until she wanted things to get serious, that was all Jesse would be concerned with.
Jesse, on the other hand, had something very pressing to be concerned about! It was time for him to give birth and he was about as prepared for it as he was the day he found out he was pregnant. Nobody else could help him out either as no one had witnessed a male birth before. All Jesse could do was wail in pain and hold his stomach in the hopes that the contractions and labor would be over quickly.
But of course.
Clay gave birth to twins Leya and Tyler. Both had green alien skin, black alien eyes and Clay's brown hair. Clay had no idea which Pollinator impregnated him, so he didn't know what kind of genetics the twins' second father contributed, but Clay could tell that his twins were beautiful, blessed creatures.
Later that day, Ava went into labor when she came back to the Greek House after her classes were over. Funnily enough, the only person with her was Jesse, but even he didn't seem to pay much attention to the fact that his older sister was giving birth.
Ava gave birth to a bouncing baby girl whom she named Hanna. Hanna had a skintone that was a shade between her parents', her mother's brown eyes and her father's brown hair.
Both Cassidy and Clay had been holding onto the want to get engaged and married to each other, and honestly, it was about time that they joined the other married couples in the house. When Clay proposed, Cassidy sighed with relief. "Finally," she muttered under her breath before screaming yes. She had been worried that since having Leya and Tyler, Clay no longer needed her for company and that they would simply be a college relationship. That was clearly not Clay's intention.
Speaking of Leya and Tyler, their birthday rolled up surprisingly quickly. In the AHC house, time was a strange thing. Sometimes the kids thought time went by too quickly--they couldn't possibly have enough time to change all the dirty diapers, finish their coursework and graduate with honors--but other times, the days crawled by horribly slowly.
Tyler and Leya aged very well! Everyone in the house thought the little aliens were too cute! Even Clay was surprised by how precious Leya and Tyler were. He hadn't expected that being probed by a mystery alien would produce such beautiful children. Not that he'd want to go through it again anytime soon...
The Smiths started living from birth to birth pretty much. There was always one pregnant sim in the house. It was once again Olive's turn to give birth, but you can see a pregnant Ava in the background. They clearly just didn't learn.
Olive gave birth to a cute little boy named Greg who had his father's skintone, his mother's brown eyes and his mother's black hair. He also had some fierce eyebrows for a child so small.
When I said the Smiths lived from birth to birth, I meant it.
Nancy gave birth to a precious little girl named Chelsea. Chelsea had her mother's skintone, her mother's blue eyes and her grandmother's brown hair.
The amount of babies in the house was kind of overwhelming for everybody. There were seven kids now and nine young adults living in the house. The Greek House was big enough to fit them all, but just barely. It was also hard to balance college and children, not to mention that the Smiths were also trying to run a Greek House. AHC pledges and membership offers had dwindled ever since the number of babies in the house rose. They simply didn't have the time to do everything. But then there were the moments when the parents looked at their children and they knew that they wouldn't want to spend their time doing anything else.
Cassidy and Clay got married and became the first married couple in the AHC house to get hitched while one of them wasn't pregnant. It was quite the achievement. Cassidy was actually quite proud of herself for managing to not get pregnant during her stay at the AHC house. Whatever she was doing, the other girls (and Clay, for that matter) needed to take a page out of her book.
With more births come more birthdays! After the wedding, everybody went inside to celebrate Scott and Aaliyah's second birthday. Both sets of parents were relieved that some of the kids would finally be at an age where they could partially take care of themselves. It would certainly take a lot of stress and worry off of them.
As usual, both Scott and Aaliyah grew up well. Scott continued to look like the perfect mixture of his parents. Aaliyah was starting to look more like her father in regards to her facial features.
Soon after their birthday, it came time for Ava and Trent's little girl to grow up. Trent, whose secondary aspiration was Family, practically doted on his daughter. Ava was forever grateful, especially since her current pregnancy had been very taxing on her. The scientists watching wondered if Ava was having such a difficult time because of the fading robotic genetics or because Ava's pregnancy really was just that hard. Only time would tell.
Hanna cleaned up well and looked very cute with her bob haircut. She definitely looked to be a beauty, just like her mother (and her father, for that matter).
The next morning, it was time for Aaliyah and Scott to head off to their first day at school. Olive had called and arranged for the school bus to change its route oh-so-slightly to allow the kids to get picked up in the morning. She had also managed to get them into private school through some kind of connection. Olive had her very mysterious ways.
Not too long after, it was time for Nancy to graduate and leave La Fiesta Tech. It seemed like it took her a lifetime, but she had enjoyed (almost) every minute of it and she was going to miss all her new and old friends. Most of all, she was going to miss Noah and their children. The kids would be staying with Noah until he graduated. Nancy thought that was fine and kind of cute, because then they'd get to be close to their cousins. She sure was going to miss all the kids running around though.
And after throwing a rocking party, Nancy aged and headed out to grab her taxi. She grew into surprisingly fitting clothing, but her hair color was a little off...
As she left, she wondered what would become of the AHC house in her absence...
