Life in the Smith house continued on without Daria. Clay was working harder than ever, getting promotion after promotion, and his children were following in his footsteps. Alyssa really got a job to impress college admission officers, but the extra money in her pocket didn't hurt either.
Then there were more birthdays! Roxie grew up into a very proper looking young lady. She definitely took after her mother more (in both looks and personality), but she was a bit of a daddy's girl, so it all evened out.
Samantha grew up into a teenager as well! She was apparently making it her mission to be the cutest Smith of her generation. Her main aspiration was Family, and she rolled Popularity as her secondary. Samantha's lifetime want was to become the Mayor of Eden, like her relatives before her, and her one true hobby was fitness. Samantha's personality read 5/9/3/6/4, making her a Leo. She was turned on by both blond and brown hair, but Sam was not interested in any unemployed sims.
With the number of teenagers in the house growing, both Leya and Tyler thought it was high time for them to head off to college. Cassidy was really worried about sending the two off so soon after their abduction, but the twins insisted that they would be fine and alert. Still, it took quite a bit of convincing before Cassidy would let them off.
Of course, as soon as someone leaves in the Smith house, someone comes in. Cassidy's pregnancy was finally over and it was time for her to give birth--to twins? To replace Leya and Tyler perhaps?
But no. If only it had only been twins...
Meet Fiona, Phoebe, Caitlin and Jasper Smith!
Cassidy was ecstatic to have another boy in the house at long last. Clay just couldn't believe that he now had ten kids.
His older kids were just about ready to leave the nest though. Ara wasn't the only one of her siblings who avoided the house, what with its four needy babies. Tyler and Leya were the helpful ones--all the other Smith kids tended to just do their own thing and hang out with their cousins. Ara's favorite cousin was Persephone Smith, daughter of Noah and Nancy Smith. The two got along swimmingly.
Persephone also had a younger brother at home and although she only had one younger sibling, she understood the need to escape from the home when your parents expected you to babysit them.
Clay also got to get to know his nieces and nephews a little bit, considering his children brought their cousins home so often. He even got to have dinner with Persephone and Tommy Leelaporn, son of Olive and Joe Leelaporn. It was times like those that reminded Clay of just how large (and surprisingly close-knit) his family was.
Roxie was having a hard time getting used to not being the baby of the family anymore. Since the quads came in, her parents barely paid any attention to her anymore and her older siblings always seemed to be away. Roxie still needed guidance and sometimes the lack of an older figure really did her some damage.
Still, no one was taking the birth of the quads harder than Cassidy. She really was quite a mess. She was on maternity leave, so luckily work wasn't an issue, but taking care of four kids in the upstairs nursery (which seemed to be the ghosts' favorite room to haunt) minute after minute wasn't exactly what Cassidy would call a vacation. Clay worked long hours to keep food on the table (not that he really had to considering the Smiths were pretty darn rich), and her older children always seemed to be dodging their responsibilities at home. Cassidy knew she'd have to call a family meeting about this or she'd have another nervous breakdown.
Luckily, when Clay was around, he usually gave Cassidy his undivided attention. Their romance had not suffered at all throughout their marriage. If anything, after all they'd been through together, the two were more in love than ever. Still, Cassidy made it clear that she was never to be pregnant again. Clay heartily agreed.
Speaking of their wonderful handful of children, it was birthday time yet again in the Smith household! There was no party this time, seeing as their little kitchen/dining room was crowded enough. Besides, every party of theirs got shut down by the police--the Smiths were beginning to think parties were a lost cause in Eden.
Here's Caitlin. She was very cute, but also very unique looking. The quads looked almost nothing like their older siblings (thank goodness--Cassidy was beginning to think she was producing a brood of clones). Caitlin had her great-grandmother's eyes, a skintone in between her parents' and her parents' brown hair.
Here we have little Fiona, who looks the most like her older sisters. She's about a shade or so darker than Alyssa here, has her mom's green eyes and black hair (from her grandfather, I think). She looks like a mini princess.
Here we have beautiful little Phoebe, the most unique looking Smith child (aside from Leya and Tyler, of course)! She, like her sister Caitlin, has her great-grandmother's eyes and her parents' brown hair, but her skintone is much closer to her father's and grandmother's. She looks pretty exotic.
And last, but not least, we have the slightly arrogant (or angry?) looking Jasper. A rare Smith boy--Carver and Kittredge had to wonder why the Smiths tended to spit out so many more girls--Jasper looked a lot like his mother, except with his great-grandmother's eyes and his grandfather's black hair.
Once the babies reached their terrible twos and threes, Cassidy dipped back into her aspirational failure days. Her wants as a Knowledge sim were being neglected, but unfortunately, there was little time for skilling with four little ones and a generally unhelpful family on your hands. Cassidy refused to hire a nanny to help her out--she didn't want to have anyone else raising her children.
But luckily, Bill was willing to retire to stay home and help Cassidy out. The family really didn't need the money and in his old age, Bill thought it would be more appropriate to stay home than to fly to work in a helicopter every morning. Besides, he didn't have much more time and he wanted to spend it with the people that really mattered.
Speaking of time, the quads' birthdays crept up on the family very quickly! Perhaps it was because they were such a handful, no one noticed how quickly time passed! No one was more grateful for the aging process than Cassidy was though. Sure, the quads would only be children, but they'd grow more and more independent with each day. Cassidy would once again have some free time for herself!
Caitlin was once again the first to age. Her long face only got longer, but she remained very pretty. She grew up into a rather posh outfit, possibly inspired by the uniform of the private school she would be attending with the rest of her siblings.
Fiona was the next to age and she kept her flowing, princess-like hair, but went for a more casual dress. She probably looked the most like her mother out of all of her siblings.
Jasper came next and with a small smile on his face, he didn't look quite as angry as he had as a toddler.
Phoebe was the last to age. She kept up the posh dress code her sister had enforced. She looked more like her father.
That night was also Alyssa's night to head off to college. She'd be joining Leya and Tyler's dorm (as would the rest of the Smith children once they went off to college). She was sad to leave her family behind, but was also more than ready to start her own life adventure.
Back at the main house, Bill was also sad to leave his family. Daria had told him in her last days that she felt like she was disappearing and now he knew the feeling. He could tell it would be his last day with his family and he didn't want it to end. Luckily, it was the weekend, so most everybody was home and he got to hang around in his pajamas with his granddaughters until the clock hit 6.
And then Grim came--and right on time.
Bill's urn was placed in the family mausoleum underneath his portrait. May you all rest in peace.
However, Bill's death wasn't the only thing scheduled to happen that night. Despite the dampened party mood, it was still Roxie's birthday and the family still planned on celebrating.
Of course, sobs and crying would come if they needed to.
But despite the somber mood, Roxie still managed to remain happy about her aging. She rolled Fortune as her main aspiration and Pleasure as her secondary. Roxie's lifetime want was to become a space pirate, and her one true hobby was fitness. Roxie's personality read 5/9/3/6/4, making her a Leo. She was turned on by grey hair and glasses, but was turned off by swimwear.
The problem with having a birthday and a death all in the same night, was that it reminded the family of how truly mortal they were. With the death of his father, Roxie's birthday only reminded Clay that his children would only get older from here. He and Cassidy weren't getting any younger either. Time and life were such fragile things.
As if she could feel her husband's spirit turning over into her world, Daria came down from her urn on the second floor and began to haunt the house. She mostly scared the quads, who had been born after Daria died, but Daria was an equal opportunity scarer. She haunted the easel and piano most of all, clearly missing the objects dearest to her.
Clay quickly learned his youngest son had a bit of a mean streak in him. Jasper had four nice points, about the same as everyone else in the house, but he was the most confrontational child in the house. He found it difficult to get along with any of the other quads and mostly kept to himself when his older sisters were busy. Clay didn't know how to intervene, but it pained him to see his children fighting. The Smith clan was supposed to stick together through thick and thin.
Phoebe didn't seem to mind. With ten nice points herself, she took her brother's bullying pretty well and seemed to understand that he had some anger that he didn't channel very well. Phoebe took up an interest in painting to keep herself content. It seemed that Smiths had a natural talent for all creative advances.
In her newfound free time, Cassidy took up practicing pool by herself. She wasn't terribly good at it, but it was something to do.
Fiona kept up with her cousins, especially her favorite, Kaleb Leelaporn, another one of Olive and Joe's sons. The cousins (all of them), actually spent a considerable amount of time with each other. They almost always brought each other home from school.
But there was little the Smiths loved more than a nice family dinner. Even with Jasper's bad attitude, they all got along pretty well and most of them were very close. The kids were the first to find out that Bill had left the deed to the Smiths' vacation home on Twikki Island to Samantha! The Smiths had been planning on going on vacation long before the quads were born, back when Tyler and Leya had been around, but so many things (like the twins getting abducted, or Cassidy's many pregnancies) prevented them from going. Still, they had a lovely vacation home just waiting for them to visit...
Ara apparently wouldn't be waiting around for it, though. She headed off that night before they could even start planning a vacation time. College was her priority--a vacation would have to wait.
Winter hit the Smiths again, but Samantha was too busy smustling in the street in just a tank top to care! She was over at her cousins' house--the Leelaporns--and had started up a lovely smustle party on the sidewalk. Her two younger cousins, Kaleb and Rudy, were more than happy to join her with their friend, Tessa Ramirez.
Samantha stayed over late into the night, playing catch in the cold with Kaleb. She apparently had no sense of temperature or really just didn't care that it was cold out. Either way, the two had a lot of fun and Samantha quickly became another one of Jaden's best friends.
However, when Tommy returned home from work, he and Kaleb had to fight for Sam's attention. Sam had come over to see Tommy originally, so it didn't take long for the two of them to settle down on the frost covered grass and completely ignore Kaleb.
Sam wasn't the only one who went over to the Leelaporn's and smustled! Roxie hung out with Tommy sometimes too. The Leelaporns were the cousins that the main Smiths were closest with, especially considering most of their other cousins had already been shipped off to college.
That didn't mean they all got along, though. Kaleb grew into a teenager and seemed to have as much of an attitude as Jasper did. He met his cousin Ara at a secret hobby lot and the two didn't really hit it off.
Back at the main house, Clay and Cassidy were still showing each other love and affection. The Smiths seemed to get very lucky when it came to love. Clay's older sister, Ava, had married Trent Lew, but after they started living together, Trent cheated on Ava. The two divorced (which upset their children very much), but eventually got back together. (It was rumored that Trent had recently given birth to an alien child.) Even Jesse, the romance sim of their generation, had found love. Unfortunately, people only found out about this love because Jesse, his love and his house all got burned down in a terrible kitchen fire.
But the Smiths were otherwise very lucky when it came to love.
Persephone Smith (who seemed to come over to the main house quite often) had developed the habit of swinging on the Smiths' refrigerator door, much to Cassidy's chagrin. What's worse was that Roxie (Persephone's new partner in crime since Ara left) had also picked up the bad habit.
Fiona, tired of her brother's attitude, was bent on giving him a taste of his own medicine whenever he thought to bother her. Fiona was now his main target, since Jasper had started getting along with Phoebe and he didn't bother Caitlin too often. However, Fiona simply was not having it.
At least, she tried not to take Jasper's bullying. Sometimes he was just too strong for her.
The quads' birthdays were approaching soon and Sam thought it'd be nice for them to celebrate by taking a vacation at their house on Twikki Island. Cassidy had been wanting to take a vacation for the longest time, so she was totally for it and it took very little convincing to get Clay on board. Sam conveniently forgot to mention that she was the owner of the deed and thus, the owner of the vacation house...
She figured it could wait until they had a good time!
