The Smith Legacy: 4.2

Told you guys the next update wouldn't take as long as the last one! Instead of three years, I only took one! Hahahaha--anyway. The fifth generation of Smiths descended upon La Fiesta Tech, their hearts full of hope and their brains waiting to be filled with knowledge. Pah! This generation had a pretty similar time to past generations in college, if you're picking up what I'm putting down. In any case, Sid, Alaska, and Amore were faced with a unique challenge...

They had to rebuild the AHU House from scratch! When the three arrived on campus, they initially stayed in a dorm, as past generations of Smiths had done. But when they were ready to pledge for their family's historic Greek House, they were told it no longer existed! In fact, there wasn't a building on campus for it, no one seemed to know any house members, and they couldn't find any record of it in school publications. As weird as all of that was, the Smiths knew they'd have to have a Greek House on campus under their house name--that was just what they did. So with their modest funds, Sid, Alaska, and Amore put together this little swanky bit.

They immediately set out to introducing themselves to each and every person who passed by the house. They didn't get to stay in their dorm for very long after they found out their Greek House had gone missing, so they didn't have a whole network of friends to build from. Of course, the Smiths weren't afraid of a challenge. Michael and Sylvia were super stoked about how determined the Smiths were to restoring their name on campus, even though the scientists were awfully suspicious of what could've happened to their Greek House in just one generation...

But there seemed to never be time to dwell in the past for the Smiths! All three children of generation five had high outgoing points (ten for Sid, and nine for Alaska and Amore), so putting themselves out there wasn't particularly hard. It was frustrating that the efforts of previous generations had been forgotten, but Amore was excited to set up her own name at La Fiesta Tech. Besides, she was sure the original Greek House could've used some updating, so why not in with the new?

And Amore certainly wasn't going to complain about Greek House perks like free pizza, no siree! Eventually, it did get a little overwhelming that the kids had boxes of pizza lined up on every usable surface. They were having pizza for virtually every meal, which was definitely not a balanced diet.

There was no one way to get more members into the house, this much was true. And speaking of true, Amore stayed true to her name and her aspiration and started romancing potential pledges. Sometimes she got dumb responses, like, "I've always wanted to hook up with an alien," but Amore took it in stride. She wasn't planning on settling down with any of these fools, and she had to do what she had to do if the Annya Hoh Cham House was going to resume its former glory.

Of course, introducing all these new personalities into the house wasn't without consequence. Because they were such a small generation, these Smiths were awfully close to one another, and so luckily there wasn't any contention between them. But all it took was one llama or cow mascot thrown into the mix, and suddenly there was chaos!

The new AHC House wasn't anything in particular to write home about, because the three Smith kids didn't have their full fortune at their fingertips. Still, they more than made do with what they had, and although some rooms weren't as fully furnished as they could have been, they made sure they had a sweet indoor pool room! Pretty awesome draw, if you ask me. Amore just hoped little perks like that would draw other college students to their house like flies.

Well, if the pool room wouldn't get them, they'd just mention the unlimited pizza. It was endless.

Amore really took on most of the greeting responsibilities. No matter what state of dress she was in, if she saw a stranger sauntering by the house, she'd invite them in and give them a small tour with a brief history of the AHC House and her family's name. Most of the strangers thought it was charming, bless their hearts. Phil Carson, pictured above, was most taken with Amore...and her family's history, of course.

But like she'd stated earlier, Amore didn't have her eyes on just one guy. And if using her romantic charm and foreign good looks was going to win her points in the pledge department, then so be it! At least they were going to good use, and it was for a righteous cause! Amore liked Phil well enough, but she also liked River Inada. The feeling was, needless to say, quite mutual.

And so Amore snagged her first kiss from River! She'd had a couple of romances in Eden, most notably with Nile Bendett, but college was the real deal. She was a woman now, no longer a flustered teenager. And since she was somewhat experienced from her teen days, she only had to finesse her skills now.

Although the kids no longer had the lovely hottub their parents surely got busy in, they did have a new shiny photobooth. Amore was the first to christen it with her new boytoy, River.

River also became the first pledge to move into the new Annya Hoh Cham House! Amore was happy to have a regular score on the side, and to finally be moving up places in the Greek Life world!

(Please note Phil staring through the windows on the door. Creepy.)

River received a customary makeover as all pledges do. The mohawk was spectacular in all of its rebellious glory, but River looked much cooler with longer, tousled hair and a slightly unbuttoned shirt. Amore was certainly impressed with the transformation.

Things Amore wasn't too impressed with: the fact that she was pregnant with River's child. Wuh-oh. Michael and Sylvia could only roll their eyes as they watched on from their secret lab. Would there ever be one generation in college who could abstain from starting a family? They weren't trying to shame the Smiths or anything, but it would be nice if one generation could just spend their time in college being, I don't know--students?!

Between dealing with her pregnancy and making sure the Greek House was active, with new incoming members and pledges, Amore didn't seem to be dedicating a lot of time to studying. Not that she was particularly worried. The Smiths were pretty stinkin' rich at this point, and it wasn't as if she'd need a great job to make sure she was stable for the rest of her life. Amore wasn't really thinking of being heir or anything like that, but she was sure she could float a couple grand from her mom when she needed (or wanted) to.

But enough about life after college--the Smiths had hardly gone through one semester yet! Amore was happy to welcome Phil into the house as the newest member.

Phil Carson also cleaned up nicely. According to her relationships panel, Amore was still attracted to him, and she very much approved of his new look. She felt kind of spoiled, in college in a nice house with all these cute boys. It was nice to be around guys who weren't her brother, finally.

Phil was also pretty charismatic himself, and wanted to make the Annya Hoh Cham House the best it could be. He took his membership very seriously, and immediately set out on recruiting new members himself. His charming tactics weren't as effective as Amore, but at least he was making an effort.

Amore's pregnancy began to take a toll on her, as most pregnancies do, especially considering all the other extracurriculars she had to pay attention to. It wasn't the hardest pregnancy the Smiths (or Carver and Kittredge) had seen by any means, but Amore knew she'd definitely feel better once it was over. And once the child had aged up a bit, she figured. She wasn't exactly jazzed about taking care of a baby or a toddler. She was a Romance and Popularity sim!

Her pregnancy didn't seem to slow down her romantic pursuits however. She and River were generally pretty eager to get into each other's pants, no matter how far along Amore was, nor how burnt River was that day. Amore hadn't really talked about the kid that was half-River's, and he hadn't really brought it up either, so they were kind of skirting the issue, but Amore didn't want to tie him down into something he didn't want to be a part of, and to be fair, she wasn't certain she wanted to be tied up into some kind of family arrangement so early in her life either. So they just kept having fun, which was something they knew how to do pretty well.

Amore continued to pop, and the more clearer it became that the baby could be born any moment, the more afraid she was. Sid and Alaska had helped out with choosing and setting up a crib, and both of them insisted they'd be there to help take care of the kid once it was born, as long as they weren't in class or anything like that, but Amore still didn't know what to think. She was a college student, so young, hadn't even decided on what her career path may or may not be, and here she was, about to be a mother. That wasn't something to take lightly, she realized.

College life continued on for the rest in the Annya Hoh Cham House as well. River often found himself sunburnt from the La Fiesta Tech sun, or overworked from his frequent workouts. It seemed that people were pelting him with water left and right to shake him out of his heatstrokes. Not necessarily a healthy lifestyle at all.

The day finally came! Amore was ready to give birth to her first child!

...and she did. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Florence, who had mostly River's coloring (pale skin, red hair, brown eyes). Amore then proceeded to abandon Florence on the floor somewhere to go flirt with Phil. Yep, she was starting motherhood right, for sure.

Time passed fairly quickly in the Smith household, and soon it was time for little Florence to age up. It was obvious she was River's kid, even if she got her red hair from both parents. She certainly had River's facial features.

Sid gave the little one a cute little makeover in the upstairs bathroom. He had kept his word to Amore, and was one of Florence's main caretakers, whether or not Amore was around. Sid wasn't part Family sim, but it was important to him that the Smiths stayed close, as they were all each other had. He remembered hanging out with cousins and having family reunions every once in a while growing up in Eden, and he wanted to make sure such fond memories were accessible to the next generation as well.

The only thing Amore worried about being accessible were her boytoys. It didn't take much for her to get Phil in bed, even with River living in the same house and the two of them now with a young daughter. It wasn't a particularly worrying situation, but everyone in the house hoped it wouldn't cause any contention--or another pregnancy.

Not wanting to get swept up in any house drama, Sid made sure he set up his romantic relationships outside of the Greek House. He was quite smitten with another student, Sam Thomas, and just being around her made him ecstatic. Danielle Leelaporn--who? Sid had forgotten all about his teenage love.

Sam seemed quite taken with Sid herself. She agreed to pledge to the House (although Sid wasn't sure if he wanted her to move in, just with everything he knew about living with your significant other in college), and spent a lot of her free time there regardless. She was often caught studying though, which Sid was happy for. It meant his girlfriend was smart and studious. Still, he wouldn't mind if she spent a little less time with the books, and a little more with him.

Sid had other things to occupy his time, anyway. Amore and Alaska always seemed to be away from the house, or otherwise occupied, so it usually fell on him to look after little Florence. River wasn't really in her life either. He would play with the small one every once in a while, but he wasn't really ready to take on the full responsibilities of being a father. He kind of treated her like she was just another member in the Greek House.

Of course, when Sid could get away to hook up with his lady love in the photobooth, he certainly took those opportunities.

One such opportunity led to Sid feeling so full of love that he proposed to Sam! She gleefully accepted.

In unrelated news, Phil got electrocuted trying to fix a computer, and ended up glitching from it. Cue him doing everything for the next three days looking like Static Shock.

Speaking of shocking things, look who found her way into River Inada's bed! Considering how eerily similar the girls were, it was no big surprise that Alaska was also attracted to River, but it was just a little weird that she had moved in on her younger sister's old flame, especially considering the two had a kid together. Gosh, it was like a flashback to the days when Nawaaf was in the old AHC House!

Amore was pregnant again! The scientists were beginning to wonder if they should work some kind of anti-attraction field into La Fiesta Tech, because dealing with so many births during college was just getting to be an awful lot! Amore here, however, wasn't sure if the kid was River's or Phil's, and she didn't really know how to deal with that predicament.

Meanwhile Florence, Amore's first child, had just aged up. She looked like a good mix of her parents, although her facial features also harkened back to Smith generations before her--kind of like a young Olive. In any case, she had the hippest clothes a young Smith child could have!

When Alaska popped, the kind of pop that represents a very real pregnancy, Sylvia Kittredge almost walked out of the lab. "Are you kidding me?" she managed to grit out between her teeth.

Even Michael didn't know what to say. They hadn't encountered this yet in the legacy.

"So...two of the main Smith children, both eligible for heir, are going to have children by the same man?" Michael asked out loud, as if for clarification, although he knew that was exactly what was happening.

"Well, FML," Sylvia muttered. She'd quite disliked Nawaaf Colin's behavior in the ACH House, but at least he only got Alyssa pregnant. Sylvia didn't know how the sisters would feel about having half-sibling cousins...

Not fully aware of the potential drama that was bubbling in her family situation, Florence was more perplexed by her bad grades! Maybe with a kid going to elementary school, there would be more of a focus on studying in the house. Seeing as, you know, all of the adults in the house were going to college. Which, weirdly enough, wasn't meant to be a breeding ground.

Alaska's pregnancy continued, as pregnancies often do. Even she didn't know what to do in this situation. Amore had already had one of River's kids, and there was a strong possibility that the one she was carrying right now would be River's too. The sisters were close, and of course, neither of them wanted this to come between them, but realistically, what were the chances that wouldn't happen?

In any case, Amore was giving birth to her next kid!

Hahaha, but of course.

And so Amore gave birth to triplets! Here we have little David Smith (pale boy in front), and Valerie Smith (slightly pinker girl in back, being held by Sid). Definitely River's children.

Last, but not least, there was little green Harmon Smith, a healthy baby boy. River was now father to four kids, with a fifth very much on the way!

...and wow, here it comes.

Mind you, while Alaska is downstairs yelling her uterus out, Amore and River were getting busy upstairs. Just another day in the Smith house.

And so Alaska gave birth to Chantal Smith all on her own. Another small daughter for River.

Not to be outdone, Amore really had to test the limits of what it means to be a responsible Romance sim, and found herself pregnant again, now with no doubt that it was River's kid.

In the meantime, her siblings helped her children age up. Here we have Alaska giving little David Smith a cute makeover.

Here is Valerie, who looks more like River than Amore at this young age.

And here is Harmon Smith, who looks more like his grandfather Tyler than either of his parents. Except, you know, for the red hair.

The triplets got along swimmingly, and kept themselves pretty regularly occupied by the activity table. Which was good, because other than Sid, no one really paid them all that much attention. Aw.

Amore was ready to pop after getting back from class one day, and luckily both her older siblings were there to assist!

And so she gave birth to little Wyatt Smith, the fifth of her children, and the sixth of River's. Wow, if college was a race to build the biggest family, these two would be well on their way to winning. That being said, they had somehow managed to keep their grades up while raising La Fiesta Tech's next football team, so kudos to them.

Little Chantal aged up, and she might've looked the most like River, considering her nose, even though she was also a very freckled child. Alaska thought her daughter was the cutest, and was just happy to have her around, even though their family circumstances were strange, to say the least.

But between baby-raising and pitching to pledges, the Smiths had managed to get through college and were now graduating! The first to go and throw his graduation party was Sid. On account of him lacking a uterus, and also not having his fiancée live with him, Sid is the only kid this generation to graduate without children! He felt rather ambivalent about it, probably because he did most of the raising for the kids anyway. In any case, he was excited to see what the future brought him and Sam, heirship or not.

Sid spent the first half of his graduation party with Florence and some of the other little ones. He didn't know how long it'd be before he saw them again, so he wanted to make sure he got some last little bits of playtime with them. He really felt like a good uncle. He'd bonded a lot with the kids, especially Florence, and was a bit sad to see them go. He enjoyed living in a busy house, which made him wonder if he'd have a bunch of kids of his own. He'd have to talk to Sam about it first, of course!

Because Sid was busy playing with the kids, River finally got put on potty training duty, which he looks absolutely thrilled by.

Zoe, who came all the way from Eden for her son's graduation party, was also quite smitten with her grandkids. She wasn't all that surprised to find that Amore and Alaska had both had children during their time at college (although she was a little shocked that Amore birthed five out of the six!), but she was happy that Sid had kept Sam out of the house to avoid any potential mishaps. Zoe was pretty sure the reason she and Tyler hadn't had any baby issues in college was because she hadn't moved into the house. Zoe didn't know how she felt about all of her current grandchildren being from the same father, but different mothers, but she supposed it could've been that way with Nawaaf and the Smith girls from the last generation.

Again, another reason she was glad she had never lived in the Greek House.

But just because Sam didn't live in the AHC House didn't mean she wasn't welcome there! Sid had invited her to his party, of course, and the two celebrated the way sexually active young adults often do. Sid was so ready for his life with Sam to start! He had liked fooling around with Danielle as a teen, and once upon a time, he thought he'd loved her, but being with Sam felt so much more solid than his fling with Danielle ever had. He knew it was love with Sam, and that they'd have a strong, steady, and lasting relationship.

Florence was going to miss her Uncle Sid, but she had plenty of other family members to occupy her time with!

Sid's banging party eventually came to an end, and it was time for him to pack up and get going. He knew that there was a toss-up for heir, and he didn't feel any more invested than either of his sisters, but if he was chosen, Sid knew he could lead his family proudly. He still missed his father, but Sid was ready to be the next Head of Household...if that was what was in the cards for him.

Alaska was the next to throw a graduation party. Most of the people she would care to invite were already in the house though. She hadn't branched out too much during college, but still had a great four years. And a kid.

Alaska had invited Tywon Phillips though, her second-cousin who had also been her teenage romantic partner. He seemed to be doing well in college himself, and though the pair of them hadn't seen much of each other during Alaska's time at La Fiesta Tech, she wondered if they'd be seeing more of each other after graduating.

In any case, Alaska got a little time to bond with the small toddlers of the house! She was closest to her own daughter, of course, but that didn't mean she didn't want her nephews and nieces to be close to her as well. Besides, she figured she and Amore would be raising the half-sibling/cousins to grow up together, really knowing each other. Alaska thought if they were just honest about their college years, and the family relations, it would be less awkward to deal with later on.

Alaska's party also eventually ended, and she called for a taxi. She didn't really have a clue what the future would bring, but she was excited to live her own life. She and Chantal would figure it out. Alaska didn't think she'd end up with River, not that she was really gunning for that in the first place, but it was just something that popped into her head. If anyone was going to be with him, she figured it'd be Amore, with those five kids and all. They were basically a family already! It didn't matter much--Alaska would be able to support her daughter on her own just fine, and besides, she had Tywon's number...

Of course, after Alaska's party came Amore's. She, like her siblings, felt like she had no clue what adulthood would be like, but unlike her siblings, she wasn't too jazzed to find out. Even though Zoe hadn't expressed any disappointment concerning how Amore's college years had turned out, Amore still felt this weird sting, like she let her family's name down somehow. She was proud that Annya Hoh Cham House was a regular name on campus again, and although it still wasn't as big as it once had been, she knew in a generation or two, they'd rule the school again. She briefly wondered if her small Brady Bunch of kids would be the ones living in the house in a few years. She kind of hoped so.

Her party was pretty uneventful--she mostly made out with River (sometimes with Phil), and looked after her kids. Amore wondered if that was what the rest of her life would shape up to be like... She didn't know if that was really what she had in mind.

Well, that's all for now, folks! Still working on this legacy, slowly but surely. I really do adore this family, and if you ask me, any of these kids could end up being a pretty successful heir, even with all their baggage attached. Anyway, heir poll will be up soon, whee!
