1st of March is Open Season.

The Guide book is getting dusted off and my membership card is being put in pride of place in my wallet. My camera will be at the ready, and the camelpak is going to be put to good use.

The National Trust is properly opening its doors for 2008 and I plan to take full advantage. I shall also post an open invitation ( Read more... )

Count me as intreagued and interested in attending. Especially if the properties have a good tea shop. :)

Even if the property does not have its own tea shop I can garantee that we will endeavour to bring tea making items along. There is nothing quite like having a 'civilised' picnic.

You bring the tea, I'll bring the cakes? Sounds like a good partnership to me ;)

If any of them are in the Midlands area (and assuming we are about that weekend) you can have access to a spare bed for a night or two. We may even come along for the trip as well, though probably only if the site accepts doggits somewhere...

Well their dog policy is outlined HERE, boiling down to on the grounds with a leash for a lot of places.

Will detail facilities available for each site and link to them too so people know what it is I'm hunting ;)

Yeah, most NT places let dogs in the gardens but not in the houses, which is understandable, dog hair + old soft furnishings = disaster waiting to happen! Similar to English Heritage, there are lots of places that allow dogs but not in 'inside bits'

Though I would like to point out that Eddie has never yet eaten any regency furniture... he is an enlightened dog of refined tastes. :)

But offers of comfortable spare bed are still in place. Many can attest to the comfort of our hospitality including the Davies' and the Wilcoxs' :)

And we can always decide to leave Eddie at home for a few hours.

Pah! We use a backpack with a special cool bag in it and a space for a bottle of wine! :)
